Wayde,
Also, if you are not into movies or prefer reading something with a more trustworthy source, I suggest the MODERN MONEY MECHANICS published by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. You can also find it here.

Jeb was a good Governor but I don't think anyone named Bush could possibly win in 2012.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
At First one could say that, but the memory of the American voting public is very short. Remember the 1994 election? I'm basing my guess on the short memory of the American voitng public.

Only 47 shopping days left till Christmas -- and 1,456 days till the 2012 election . . . guess it's never too early to start campaigning:
Get your 2012 campaign bumper sticker NOW
Might I suggest Susan Powter as a running mate (or better yet, just stop the insanity before it starts!)

In four years, Obama will not be the agent of change, he will be the establishment.
Yeah, but if things are even remotely better (and it would be hard for them to be any worse) then all Obama would have to do is roll out the ol' "morning in America" routine.
"It's morning in America. More people have jobs, more people are making money, more people are buying houses again. etc etc etc" Obama doesn't have to make miracles happen, but if he manages to make the country noticeably better he'll win in a landslide 4 years from now.

From my own experience, even "educated people" can believe in magic money trees.
**
People believe what they want to believe. Then, most only listen to information which affirms what they've already decided to be true.
(Hmmm. I wonder at what point we decide to cling to our beliefs, and stop examining competing ideas with an open mind?)
We now return you to your regular programming ...

Agreed, Gene. Either that or they try to discredit the contradictory
information.

I would add that the reason for that is because people are lazy and simply find it too hard to think and analyse, and all the process to distinguish truth from lie, is very tiring for them, so they prefer to choose a "side".

I already thought that; therefore, I completely agree and will destroy anyone who claims otherwise!

There lies the root of the 'CHANGE' needed.
It is time to be smart. It is time to set aside the ideologies and dogma. The best means to begin that journey is to make the trains arrive on time. Government, however large or small needs to be smart. It needs the best and brightest people working hard to solve that most essential service that Government should provide: good governance.
We haven't the money or will to dictate to the world. The problems we face lay on our own shores and we can best serve the world by our example to tackle the tough issues at home and make our country work. -Analysis, logic and reason before left vs. right ideology.
If we can set in motion programs that bear fruit for the long haul, rather than short term fixes, we can make the best of this sad state and bring America into a better future. Hire the smartest and the brightest. Ask them to work hard. Don't get distracted by the petty. Have vigorous debate. Put aside the rose colored glasses and beg the question: what are the real world consequences of our policy. -If we ever needed intellectual 'elites', this is it.
Make the trains run on time.
Grow from there.

For me, it was the moment I realized that 'universal truth' was entirely
subjective, itself.
