My guess?  When Ted Stevens is forced to resign from the Senate, Palin will take his place

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I don't see Stevens resigning. They'll have to kick him out and it's unlikely they'll do that until his appeal is heard. He'll probably be a Senator for a while. Once he's out Palin will have to win a special election to get the job.

Freudian slip? Because "John Bolton" is the name of one of Bush's chief dicks.

John Bodin: Yeah, well at least your name isn't John Bolton.

Jeff Gilmer: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.

John Bodin: There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started working for Bush.

Joe Zhang: Er, waitaminit -- your name's "Bodin," not "Bolton."  Why don't you just go by "Bodin" instead of "Bolton?"

John Bodin: No way. Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.

;-)

They'll have to kick him out and it's unlikely they'll do that until his appeal is heard.

In the mean-time, a convicted man is serving in our Senate.  But because he's going to appeal the decision, the weight of the decision is irrelevent.  Sigh... only in America.

When a guilty verdict falls on a "normal" American, they're free to go about their job and business until they get an appeal?  "Sorry," do they say? "I don't agree with that decision, so I'm going to ignore it until my appeal."  I'm pretty sure I would lose MY job, appeal-pending or not.

Edited to add:  Frustrating...

Yes you are, you dumbass!  This type of politician can't disappear soon enough.  I'm so embarrassed to live in the South.

You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

Hard to take the guy seriously when he gets simple historical facts like this wrong.

*************

Last I checked, there are plenty of Interstate highways, outgoing flights and outbound trains leaving the South on a daily basis. This isn't North Korea - no one is being held here against their will.

As if only Southerners are capable of such ignorant statements.

"Republican Warns of Obama Dictatorship"

That line of attack didn't work for McCain / Palin, and it won't work now. But the Republicans need to scare their now-impoverished constituents into giving money, so they'll keep up with these lunatic pronouncements.

"The Fear Train" - sounds like an Ozzy Osbourne song!
