People tend to think of New Yorkers/New Jerseyans as rude -- when in fact its just the pace of life and being so busy.  So I hope those that think we're rude go fuck themselves and the horse they rode in on.

(Just kidding . . . . )

I LOVED New York, if we ever won the lottery and became really rich I would move there in a heartbeat. It's like the whole world in one big city.

If one is going to hate the south for something hate the dominance of the South Eastern Conference in Football (and its pretty damn good in hoops too)!

I lived on the Upper East Side for two years in my twenties -- good times.

I certainly can understand the appeal of NYC (or any other big city, for that matter), but it's never held much attraction to me as a place to call home. I like elbow room and grassy spaces (not to mention pork barbecue!) too much.

But I have enjoyed my visits there. A buddy of mine (who was at Yale at the time) and I went into the Big City for a Knicks game. That was really cool. And then three years ago, my wife & I spent a weekend in Midtown Manhattan and saw a couple of Broadway shows. Both good times.

How old is your son again? :o)

I loved living in the City but it was superexpensive, it was also a pain in the ass when I was coaching little league in Jersey, with the subways and trains.  But overall it was an amazing experience.  Whatever you wanted, pretty much whenever, was at your fingertips if you had the cash.  And in those pre-Kelly days I "had me a real good time."

No, none of that was going on, Geoff! We made the mistake of staying in one of Leona Helmsley's hotels, which was about the only thing we could find for less than $300 per night. Honestly, it made Motel 6 look like a five-star hotel.

But other than that, the trip was a good one. I got to see your Yankees play, which pretty much made the trip for me. Mind you, Yankee Stadium is no Turner Field, though....

EDIT TO ADD: Oh, and I did get to make a stop in at Midtown Comics, which was cool, since I've seen their ads for years.

No it had history, a tradition of winning World Series . . . sadly it is soon to be no more.

I haven't been to Manhattan since 2001.  I really need to get back up there.  I'm the same as Jodi.  If I became filthy rich I'd definitely have a place in Manhattan.

NY is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there...

...unless I had lots and lots of money!

Wallace, if I had that kind of dough, I'd stay right where we're at in North Carolina...

And build a house like LeBron James! His place is 35,000 square feet with its own barber shop and bowling alley!!
