Sounds like a bumper sticker: "Sarah Palin's death grinder has killed fewer people than Ted Kennedy's car."
Not to rain on anyone's happy dance, but can we please get past the Palin-bashing now that the election is over? She ran. She lost. End of story. There's plenty of other stuff out there to talk about.

Matt, I'm glad to hear that lawmakers are skeptical about bailing out the auto industry. I just wish they had shown the same restraint with bailing out the lending industry (well, they did at first, but they quickly caved).

Wait Bruce how long did we democrats have to hear about Bill Clinton and Monica. Hell we are still hearing about it. The month is not even over and you take a hands off on Palin posts. Sorry Bruce as long as this woman is even remotely talked about as a presidential candidate she is fair game. And yes let us please keep her stupidity in the forefront so she will NEVER be a viable candidate. This country can not take a female Bush. hee hee I said female Bush
Edited to add : and how long ago did the Ted Kennedy drunk driving thing happen?

I totally agree, Jodi. As long as Palin keeps herself in the public spotlight, which I'm fairly certain she's going to do now that she's nationally recognized with higher political aspirations, she's totally fair game. Listen, Bill Clinton hasn't held public office in 8 years, but I still heard a joke about him on Letterman last night. Why? He's still in the public spotlight. Makes him fair game in my book. Palin is no exception.

I'll quit talking about her when she disappears and I never have to hear that whiny annoying voice again.

When you talk about the country not being able to take a female Bush I think
you're actually just thinking about
THIS THREAD.

I think bemoaning Sarah Palin (something I certainly have done) is fine if people want to do so but in the long run, if the goal is to make her go away, its best to just ignore her and not provide her attention. Guys like Olbermann making fun of her every night will do nothing but militate her supporters and provide her a bigger platform in 2012 -- as a "picked upon conservative by the liberal mainstream media." Let her go back to Alaska with no attention and do her job. If she's incompetent it will show and political natural selection will happen.

Matt:
I completely agree -- but I'd just add that Bill Clinton is also really in the spotlight of late because of Hillary's potential appointment -- and the unique issues he brings to her appointment (for good and bad really).

Me too, but we can't! They live in the same state!*

Okay, if not a moratorium on Palin cracks, how 'bout at least a reduction? I promise to hold back on the John Edwards jokes I've been saving up.
Al and Jodi, you are too funny today!
