Knut:

As made clear by your pist the terms liberal, conservative, socialist, etc, are defined very differently in the US and maybe more simply because of the two party system.

I mean that the FOX News Network is an absolute joke. It's pathetic. Their
notion of journalism would insult the intelligence of a sea sponge.

MSNBC is liberal?  FOX has liberals?

MSNBC - former home of Michael Savage.

FOX - Alan Colmes, Bush supporter.

I think that alone tells you all you need to know about the media and where it stands

FOX - Alan Colmes, Bush supporter.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That is about as far from the truth as you can possibly get.

And Michael Savage hasn't worked for MSNBC for nearly 5 years.

Mike:

Alan Colmes is liberal -- have ever listened to him?

MSNBC, has been more centrist than CNN, but look at some of the personalities: Olbermann (Liberal), Mathews (Liberal), Russert (Liberal), Maddow (Liberal), Dan Abrams (liberal).  Even the conservatives on the pay roll (Scarborough and Carlson) are not "far right."

Moreover in the last few years I think MSNBC has been moving to the (American) left.

Huh. I wonder if that's why Mike said "former home"...

Yes, Savage was fired for telling a gay caller to eat a dick and get AIDS.

And they say Moore is a bad man!

And I may be wrong about Colmes - I'm basing that on the few times I could stomache watching their terrible show - it was all Hannity barking and ranting, and Colmes going "ok, yes, yes you're right... boy the Democrats sure are terrible... Bush isn't that bad... he's doing a great job... if only the Democrats were more like the Republicans..."

If any of you guys are watching Colmes and thinking he's a Democrat, I've got some Santa-Level bad news for you.

But!  I have only seen the program maybe... 4 times.  So, maybe in the entire broadcasting history of the Hannity and Colmes show, maybe Colmes only acted like a spineless wimp 4 times and the rest of the time he's a fearless fighting liberal.  Who knows?

Geoff - I'll grant you Olberman and Maddow - they're pretty decent libs.  The rest of those guys I can't vouch for.

What's more, Geoff - in the last few years the whole country has made a shift to the left - can you blame them?

Colmes' only reason for being on Fox is to pay lip service to "fair and balanced".  The show is dominated by Hannity with Colmes only occasionally raising a stink with his partner's views.

Thats a bad example of Colmes -- Mike -- Hannity as is his wont -- overwhelms Colmes.  I've heard him away from Hannity and his views are in line with most mainstream democratic party views.  He's a Clinton supporter though (because he think she could beat McCain).

Note nowhere above did I say Fox wasn't biased -- I was simply pointing to the bias each news agency has.  Do you think the New York Times or Wall Street Journal are unbiased?

Olbermann is a hideous human being, he has become no better than O'Reilly as far as I am concerned.  Which is a pitty because I loved him on SportsCenter!

I'd be surprised if you've even seen the show once. Colmes is as far left as Hannity is far right. They almost never agree on anything. About the only time they ever agree is when they have some lunatic on the show like the Westboro Baptist church idiots or the New Black Panther party.
