Do you think he's hoping for a VP slot?

Hm - I don't feel one way or the other about it, but is it really a stupid move?  Some people really love Edwards....

I mentioned upthread the idea of a "dream ticket" - if Hill would accept the VP spot - which I don't like because I don't like Hillary, but I see the logic of it uniting the party - but having said that, outside the party, Hillary is hated - Edwards has some fans - so, he might not be such a crazy thought.

Personally, I like a guy like Richardson as VP, but I suspect Obama will be wise and choose someone conservative.

The problem is it's not the support of the party he needs.  It's the support of the people.   The Democrats could shoehorn anyone into the nomination, but with out the support of the people it wouldn't matter.

The question becomes can Obama defeat McCain in the big states where he lost to Clinton?

Some people love him but he lost his own state in 2004 by over 400,000 votes. A smart move would be to pick someone who can give him closely contested state. Former military would be a big help too.

Edwards didn't really help John Kerry.

Edwards is such an opportunist. Doesn't endorse Hillary or Obama until one has established himself as the probably winner. Two-Americas seein' bastid.

Knut, off topic but you read this topic. :)

Do you know of a book that was written last year that concluded that Scandinavians were the most independent people on earth? They simply let the government take care of the life things, which gives them the time to wander around in the forest and go on holidays. It was in the news a while back but I forgot the name. It might have been Swedish.

I mentioned it to my dad and he thought the authors were idiots. :)

"Ok, America!  Prove you don't care!  Judge on the issues, and vote for who you think is the best candidate!"

Unfortunately Mike, the whole insane Superdelegate system was created to go against that from happening.  That system was created to pick the best candidate that can win against the Republicans, not necessarily the best candidate the Democrats have.

Oh, yeah, I get you Jeff, but I was talking about the General Election - The Superdelagates are on Obama's side now.

Hillary is already out - she just hasn't announced it yet.

I like how it was announced today that Obama will bail out Clinton's campaign.  Good ol' Obama!

Oh - and before anyone gets mad about my quote that Jeff quoted - I mean that for Democrats in the general election - obviously, if you don't agree with the policies of the Dems, you should vote for McCain, but if you are a Dem, there's no reason to not support Obama.  That was my point.
