Your man Obama doesn't agree. He links McCain to Bush nearly every time he mentions his name.

That bugs me but its understandable.  If I was running against McCain I would try to tie him to Bush as well.  McCain can't really run as "the agent of Change" or else he loses part of his base.  He has to distinguish himself from Bush without criticizing Bush.  Not an easy thing to do.

Well, let's be clear - his voting record supports Bush's policies.

However, I don't think McCain is as beholden to religious and corporate interests as Bush, and unlike Bush, I think McCain would put America's interests first, as opposed to his spiritual and financial interests.

But, yeah, I can see them linked, in terms of voting and policy.

True enough, Geoff, but the two are different matters. I'm very specifically trying to pursue the Hillary question with Scott.

Answered earlier.  You not liking or agreeing with the answer doesn't make it invalid or incorrect..

McCain is tolerable - Obama's my guy for sure, and I'd probably vote Dem even if it wasn't Obama, but... honestly, I think I can live with McCain as President.  He's cut of a different cloth than, say, Bush.

That's very open-minded of you.  I've found the most Obama supporters I've spoken to see McCain as Bush's 3rd term.  :)

Scott, when did you answer the question of what funds were being raised
for at the fundraiser that Hillary attended?!?

Some of Bush's failures have been things that are not voted on: (1) the selling of the war; (2) management of the war; (3) Katrina; (4) Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson matter.

McCain has a different position from Bush on Climate Change.  He also was opposed to the running of the war* before the surge.  He was opposed to cutting taxes without cutting spending.  I cited to this editorial about 30 pages ago but I think it well articulates the substantive difference between Bush and McCain: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/28/opinion/28brooks.html?ex=1 364443200&en=10d5933a4090dea4&ei=5124&partner=pe rmalink&exprod=permalink

*One of Obama's silver bullets against McCain and Clinton was his opposition to the War (which I shared, funny enough -- yet another reason to vote for me).  But ultimately, I think while he deserves credit for that, it does not mean that he has the right plan to manage, and ultimately end, the war.

Sorry.   I didn't see that question.  I thought you were talking about the question about the difference between fund raising and campaigning.

Your new question is confusing.  I guess the answer would be US dollars for campaigning in the future?  Not sure the point of the question, but there's my answer.

If it's meant to link fund raising to campaigning, well, duh.  It was for future campaigning after the primary, unlike the Obama commercials that "accidentally" aired in Florida.

I'm curious how many Obama supporters saw the video of him resigning his membership in Trinity (versus just hearing about it) and what their opinion of his words and tone were.

Well, the Hillary people have been packing up their stuff...

...but bigger for me: IT'S THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Don't know which I'm more excited about: Hillary out of the race or summer vacation.

That "Summer Vacation" for teachers is a bit of misunderstanding on the part of most people...

My wife tends to work a simply insane amount of time during  the school year.  More than making up for the ever-shrinking Summer time she gets to stay home with the girls.

And even then there are the CE courses and what not.

I'm seconds away from nappy-poo, Scott, but I'll try to do this for you when I awake, since I have recently committed myself to Obama's impending godhood.

My early prediction: meh.  The whole thing has been meh for me.
