I've been saying this for years. What brought him down wasn't the affair, but having an affair with a plain chick (or regular girl) instead of a real knockout. It showed a lack of ambition, a lack of judgement and a lack of "stud-cred".

I thought Lewinsky was hot, and Gershon is even hotter.

It's like...  you know how I said I had one thing that I could respect about Condi Rice (her love of KISS?) - same thing with Bill Clinton - I admire his taste in mistresses.  Not wife, though!

Having said that - it's a crappy thing to report, but don't let it put you off Vanity Fair - it's far and away the best mag on the market these days.  Graydon Carter has turned it into something thrilling.

Repitition does not make something a fact.  In your opinion, based on your criteria, Hillary campaigned in Florida.  Based on any practical usage of campaigning, and based on the agreement regarding campaigning in Florida, she did not.

What would the purpose of campaigning in the state be?  To sway voters in the primary.  How much impact would an appearance at a private fund raising event the day before the primaries have on the vote?  Less than insignificant.  There would be a comparitive handful of people there, and anyone inclined to attend a fundraiser already knows who they're voting for.  Likewise, any money raised at the event couldn't possibly be of assistance for the Florida primary.

Since fundraising was specifically excluded from the ban, she was in no violation -- unlike the TV commercials "accidentally" run in the state by the Obama campaign.

Thom, you are wrong.

Clinton campaigned by having a private fund raiser with no media coverage for use in future campaigning with hundreds in attendance.  Obama didn't campaign by airing campaign TV commericals prior to the primary in Florida where they were viewed by millions.

Get your facts straight.  :P

Hmmm.  Just a thought.  At the fund raiser dinner they might have served Canadian bacon or maple syrup.  It very well could be that in Canada those two items are a necessary part of a campaign.  Using that definition then perhaps Clinton did campaign.  Since Obama didn't have food in his commerical that wouldn't meet the possible Canadian definition of campaigning.  I'm no expert on how campaigning differs in Canada than in the US so I can't be sure.

O'Brien, I must agree with you re: Monica.  Sure, a president should be able to do a lot better, but she wasn't an uggo.

Of course, if she were a tad more...COMMITTED to oral sex, this whole scandal could have been avoided.
