Scott, in Canada we do not have "Canadian Bacon". I have never seen it for sale and am not too sure what it even is. I looked it up online and I still do not know what it is. It just sounds like cooked ham.
Now, Maple Syrup, that is a different story. I used to have a roommate from Quebec who used to drink a glass of the stuff daily. Horrible.

QUOTE:
Thom, you are wrong.
Clinton campaigned by having a private fund raiser with no media
coverage for use in future campaigning with hundreds in attendance.
Obama didn't campaign by airing campaign TV commericals prior to the
primary in Florida where they were viewed by millions.
Get your facts straight. :P |
|
|
For the record, (since Scott here is responding to Thom Price's post in
regards to my position that Hillary's actions in Florida constitute
campaigning), I have never said that Obama's commercials airing in
Florida did not constitute campaigning.
Get your facts straight, indeed.
Thom; I appreciate your point of view. Even more, I appreciate the
thoughtful and respectful way you presented it.
Scott, well, everyone can read the rest of his post and make up their own
minds about it and him.

There could be some practical benefits to Obama selecting Hillary as his VP -- it would be a fast way to unite the party, and help Obama win over the Clinton democrats which is by no means a guarantee. I don't see it happening, though. No President wants to be upstaged by his VP; and he certainly doesn't want to be upstaged by his VP's spouse.

A glass of syrup? I can't even imagine that. Talk about sugar shock.
Well as you (and probably everyone else) realized I was being humorous in a way of pointing out that fund raising for furture campaigning isnt' the same as campaigning any more than saving up for college is the same thing as going to college. Sure, one is the precursor to the other, but they aren't even close to the same thing. That's just the most basic of common sense.
To argue otherwise starts to enter Twilight Zone territory. Of course everyone can read any arguments that try to say that apples are oranges and make up their own minds.

I'm surprised Clinton would want to be the Vice President. Given the apparent acrimony between them, it seems likely she'd be relegated to an LBJ-type role. I can't imagine why she'd want that unless she really is banking on him being assassinated. She's probably on the phone right now with the guys who killed Vince Foster, heh heh.
I have to say I think the positives outweigh the negatives for the idea, as far as helping the Democratic ticket win, anyway. I would guess that about 75% of the "I'm gonna vote for McCain if Obama is nominated" idiot Clinton supporters would vote for an Obama/Clinton ticket. That's nothing to sneeze at. On the flip side I don't think there are that many Obama supporters who would decide not to vote for him if she's the VP candidate. On the whole, I think there are many people who would be more effective and useful as Vice Presidents for Obama, but Clinton may be the most electable candidate.

I'm pretty excited.
Plus? Sean Hannity announced today that as far as he knows, there is no Michelle Obama "Whitey" tape, so while I never believed it, good to know it's been put to rest by one of it's biggest supporters. (Though, already, conspiracy minded types are saying that Rove put him up to saying that, so the moron voters will forget the issue, and that it'll seem like a fresh new surprise when he unleashes it in October. But I still smell bullshit.)
My only worry? It was announced today here in California that we're putting Gay Marriage on the ballot in November - this was one of the ways Bush won in 04. But putting something like that on the ballot in enough states, it brought out the nuts, zealots, bigots, etc, who, by the way, voted for Bush. In this case, I'm guessing the same nuts and bigots who would leave their caves to vote again' two people getting married would also be motived to vote again' some black man, so... there's that. Hopefully this'll just be in California, which will go Dem no matter what, but... you never know..

Mike you're right. I said when it happened that the CA Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage was actually a big victory/gift for the Republicans.

"Most guys have two thresholds of female attractiveness: 1. Attractive enough to date, and 2. Attractive enough to wank off to."
I'm sorry, but you guys are setting your standards way too low here. There's no way Monica is in either category

Oh - I just re-read my post - let me be clear - missing points is like a college major on the internet, so...
When I said: it brought out the nuts, zealots, bigots, etc, who, by the way, voted for Bush. I didn't mean that anyone who voted for Bush is a nut, zealot, bigot, etc - I meant, those nuts, zealots, bigots, etc, voted for Bush.
Don't fall into fallacious logic - A dog is an animal, but not all animals are dogs.
