Heh... Marc, Marc, Marc... would it help if we discussed how hot JFK looked in his swim trunks?

Come on, buddy - we're just having a laugh.

Let's get back to the important news. Gina Gershon is denying she's having an affair with Clinton.

And in other news, no more Freedom Fries

When that whole ridiculous thing was going on, I instructed my students, rather than call me "Mr. French" they should call me "Mr. Freedom"

That joke went on so long, there was nothing left but horse bones to kick.

I'm happy to say that, when the mission was accomplished -- (don't know if you remember that day or not, Bush on a boat, big banner) -- we returned to normal.  Whatever that is...

Oh - I just re-read my post - let me be clear - missing points is like a college major on the internet, so...

When I said:  it brought out the nuts, zealots, bigots, etc, who, by the way, voted for Bush.  I didn't mean that anyone who voted for Bush is a nut, zealot, bigot, etc - I meant, those nuts, zealots, bigots, etc, voted for Bush.

I don't think any one would have taken it that way Mike.  There are "nuts, zealots and bigots" on both sides of the spectrum who can be brought out of the woodwork with the right issues.  It's the fringe element and not the norm.

So what do you all make of Clinton refusing to concede or even acknowledge Obama's crossing the necessary delegate threshold tonight?  Is she holding out for a promise of the VP spot?  Negotiating for other considerations?  Just trying to piss Obama off?  Does she still believe there's a chance she'll get the nomination somehow?  Or is there some other reason?

I think she has leverage and like the good politician she is, she plans to use it.  I question whether she really wants to be VP, but she may be angling for that.  Maybe she's angling to have Obama adopt (or incorporate) some of her proposed policies such as healthcare.  Maybe she wants a prime speaking place at the convention because she wants to be in good position for 2012 if Obama loses.  We won't know until she speaks.

As for Obama I would think long and hard before offering her the VP spot.  Objectively speaking I think she's impossibly talented.  But with that talent  comes the baggage (as she admitted on the campaign trail).  I don't know how you can be the "change" candidate with Hillary on the ticket.  I also question whether she would deliever, at the election, voters that would otherwise vote for McCain.  I don't really buy the theory that the VP helps the ticket gain voters. I think people vote for the top of the ticket.  But, as seen with Lieberman and Edwards, if the VP has his or her own ambitions he or she can kill a ticket.

I had serious questions about whether or not I, a yellow-dog Democrat, could have voted for Hillary Clinton had she won the nomination.  This morning, I am pretty damn close to deciding that I will NOT vote for Obama in November if he chooses "that woman" to be his running mate.

Cutting off my nose to spite my face?  Maybe.  But, I find her so beyond the pale, that it might be worth Obama losing to prevent her being one heartbeat away.

Gotta tell you, Marc.  I agree with you.  Would consider not voting for the ticket if Clinton is involved.

And I used to like her.  And I used to respect her.  But the way she's handled herself on this campaign has left nothing but a horrible taste in my mouth.

I think Obama needs to pull the same trick Bush did and nominate somebody REALLY scary for vice president.

Someone with the vibe of a Christopher Walken, Al Pacino or Jack Nicholson.

You know:
"I really don't think I can support your new bill, Mr. President ....
I asked the vice president to audit our discussion, you don't mind, do you?
The Vice ... oh god! He's here? Please don't! I'll sign anything!

Tom and Marc:

How do you guys feel Bill Clinton (and to a lesser extent Hillary) treated the Gay community?  My own opinion is that the community was treated as a "red headed step child" (which is still better, shamefully,  than many in my party has treated gays).
