I think Obama needs to pull the same trick Bush did and nominate somebody REALLY scary for vice president.

Don't forget Cheney nominated himself.

I think Christopher Walken would be an awesome VP.

How do you guys feel Bill Clinton (and to a lesser extent Hillary) treated the Gay community?

Well, since you asked, I'll tell.

I think Bill's motivation was in the right place, but as soon as he found out the political ramifications of marriage, etc, he backed down significantly.  Still, I think he did what he could.  Hillary, on the other hand, I feel would stand whichever way the wind blows.  If America vocally wanted it, so would she.  If they didn't, she wouldn't either.  As her grandpappy used to tell her on their many hunting jaunts when she was a child...

What we need is a person in office who has a gay child, so they'd be willing to take a stand for what's right...

Oh, wait... that's Cheney...

I ask because a gay friend of mine, whilst articulating his support for Hillary Clinton*, told me he thought the Clinton's were good on gay rights.  That really suprised me because I've thought that the Clinton administration never really took on or supported gays as a "pro-gay" administration should.  For example, Bill Clinton signed DOMA, thats more than backing down thats going against gay interests.  My recollection has been that he is a pretty strong opponent to gay marriage.  I just wonder if the policies of the Bush Administration has resulted in some in the gay community misremembering the actuality of Clinton's administration.

*My friend had a host of other "non-gay" reasons for his support for Hillary.

Gina Gershon is denying she's having an affair with Clinton.

She says that a recent assertion romantically linking her to ex-president Bill Clinton "irresponsible journalism."

See there is nothing romantic about it.  They are just fucking.  :o)

I'll be here all week!

OK I have tried to stay away from the god thread and the political thread, because I feel strongly about both issues, but I also feel each person has a right to their beliefs. Now if you come to "My" house I will talk politics all day if you bring it up.

I am a democrat and an Obama girl, I just can't help myself today, I watched all 3 candidates give, what I feel, was a very important speech on the same day, (how often does that happen?) Hands down Obama inspired!!!!!!!! I get chills watching that man speak, he is bringing hope and inspiration to this country. I just went to comcast and they had a story about how the world was watching yesterday and they celebrated Obama's win, saying they felt American could once again be great.

As a mom I want that for my children, I want America to inspire people again, I want to be proud to be an American. I want a brighter future for my kids. I want the hope for a better world back!

Someone with the vibe of a Christopher Walken, Al Pacino or Jack Nicholson.

You know:
"I really don't think I can support your new bill, Mr. President ....
I asked the vice president to audit our discussion, you don't mind, do you?
The Vice ... oh god! He's here? Please don't! I'll sign anything!

LOL LOL LOL

Please join in Jodi -- you "feel[ing that] each person has a right to their beliefs" is not a reason for you to share yours with us!

Hey, don't be too hard on Cheney.

I haven't even BEGUN to be hard on Cheney.  What an embarrassment to his daughter.  What a chance he had to be a crusader.  What a poor excuse for a leader.

You might be able to blur yourself on Google Earth, Cheney, but we here on planet Homo see you sharply in focus.

I used to think that Markie Post was by far the hottest chick that Clinton reportedly banged. (Not that there was much competition in the looks department.). But if the Gina Gershon rumors are true then my respect for him has just skyrocketed exponentially!
