QUOTE:
| That doesn't make it right or even justifiable. |
By who's standards? What do I care if someone thinks I'm wrong if I think it protects my child? I'm telling you guys my reasons, but I'm not looking for justification. See, this is what I was alluding to: blanket statements of what's right or wrong sound great in the comic book world, but in real life we have to profile or show prejudice if we want to be safe. You greatly run the risk of injury or death if you decide to live your life without some amount of prejudice.
QUOTE:
| You have equated choice and tastes with prejudice. |
For one thing, who decides the fine line between choosing something because you want it from not choosing something because you don't want it? Prejudice is prejudice; certainly it's more important to consider prejudice against race than the brand of an appliance, but you're still refusing to do or buy something because it isn't good enough for you. By the way, I think we should include class in your definition of prejudice. I don't care what the color of the skin or the sexual orientation is nearly as much as I care whether a person behaves or presents themselves appropriately.
