It's amazing how much all those "Would you like to have a dollar given to the Presidential Campaign funds" checkboxes add up to.

Seriously.  I wish they would add a "Give Thomas Price $0.50" checkbox!

That makes me wonder.  Is there anyone who doesn't check that checkbox?

And if so, what's the reason you don't check it?

I check it because I like that it can give an underdog campaign funds where very little might have been available otherwise.

Why do Obamites always misuse that statement?  He said no such thing.  He said it's possible we could be.  He didn't say he wanted to be.  He didn't say it was okay to be.

Ahhhhhh no I think you need to take a look:

Flip flopping at it's finest:

At least the Obama campaign doesn't stack the crowd:

Michelle speech, same day one word left out. yeah that's the same as saying "I would be OK with military in Iraq for 100 years." And I would guess I would say the same thing as Michelle if I was a black woman and my black husband was running and winning for the nomination of their party. If it was my husband I would say the same thing

Barack is trying to rise above politics as usual by not accepting tax payers money and even in that he is put down. You all say you want something different and when someone comes along and offers it you find fault. Boy I can't wait to see what the swift boaters do with this.

Obama doesn't trust Muslims.  After all, they couldn't sit near him.

Show me the Youtube video that shows him saying this....................waiting......................yep not gonna find it.   But wait it was a volunteer that worked his event, yeah thats  just like him saying it.

Remind me again who you all voted for last 2 presidential campaigns?

Sorry, but BS.  He's not accepting the public funding because he knows he can raise more on his own, giving him a monetary advantage. This tax money was designated for this purpose; it's not like its being pulled from education or social security funds.  Other than his back peddling on his earlier pledge, I have no problem with it.    This is not an altruistic move, and to pretend otherwise is either naive or disingenuous.

I don't check it because I'm not going to give the government ONE MORE DOLLAR than I have to.  Seriously.

Big news Barack can raise his own money, turns down taxpayer money.

I don't check it.  If the funds are distributed fairly, then no candidate gets an advantage, but there are still more ads.  More noise.

I'd like to get rid of public funding altogether.

I'm an Obama man.  Said it all along.  That said, I totally agree with what others have said in that he didn't decline public funding to be altruistic.  He declined it so he could spend more.  As far as Scott's contention that it's the only way he'll beat McCain, I seriously doubt that.  But to the why of declining the funds, I think we can and should put away the wide eyed optimism that it has anything to do other than being able to spend more.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe it's one *more* dollar -- it's simply one dollar you were already giving them that is being targeted at a specific purpose.  Hell, I wish I could check off exactly where all of my tax dollars would go.
