I don't think Liebermann would be a good choice for McCain, even though he's Kevin Hagerman's favorite senator.

If the McCain camp really is considering this it suggests that they are even
more afraid of Obama than we thought.

"Let's choose a Democrat as a running mate! Maybe we can get some of
them Dems to vote for us that way..."

Richardson seems the best choice for Obama and I think McCain should pick Huckabee as a running mate. It would be hilarious.

Hillary might accept the nod from McCain quicker than she would from Obama. One term as Veep, then on to her own two terms when McCain doesn't re-up.

Question for those more knowlegable than I: would Hillary bring more female voters of both parties to McCain than she would lose in disillusioned Democrats of both genders?

Basically, if the Republican Veep position is offered to her, would she be better off switching parties to accept it, or would she be better off waiting four years (if Obama loses or is an umpopular winner) or even eight years (if Obama wins and looks good as the incumbant) in order to run again as a Dem? Could she convince herself that she would still be popular or even relevant in 2012 or 2016?

I think women and Democrats would turn against her if she ran with McCain. She'd completely alienate her base and Republicans, many already wary of McCain, would certainly not embrace her.
