Here's a link to John McCain's wealth.
Thanks Jeff. That was very eye opening. This passage says a lot:
McCain himself reports little more wealth than when he started in politics. With his book royalties and radio-appearance fees donated to charity, McCain's Senate salary of $169,300 and Navy pension of about $56,000 are his only significant sources of income. He has accounts at two banks with his wife worth up to $15,000 each, according to his most recent financial disclosure report.
In contrast, Cindy McCain is a millionaire many times over -- though the McCains haven't disclosed just how many times.

Edited to add: I thought Hillary did a pretty fine job
I agree. The Twin Cities line was cute (though I do not agree). I think the question she raised that was most important was: were you voting for me or for my issues? If you voted for her on the issues then presumably you would support Obama. I thought she did well. Bill was beaming. I bet he even stayed in their room last night!

I love in your paragraph you call Barack, thinly experienced, then you say his running mate: is a Washington insider whose been in office almost longer than I've been alive. Come on Thom, which are you most upset with, too much or too little? As my mom would have said "he can't win for losing"
**** You miss my point. I think experience is one of the most important qualifications for President, and Obama's lack of it is one of his biggest weaknesses. From the beginning, Obama has run as the "candidate of change" who was going to fight the system; Hillary, he told us over and over, couldn't possibly be a candidate of change because she was a Washington insider too connected to the system. So who does he pick for his running mate? A lifelong politician who's such a Washington insider he makes Hillary look like an amatuer. That's called hypocrisy. It also throws his own inexperience into sharper contrast: "hey, I know you guys think I'm not qualified -- but look, I've got this old guy who's been around forever to back me up!"

And ya know, the LAST time we had a naif president with a well-seasoned veep, it didn't work out so hot. Well, so far, anyways...

Threatening to use the Justice Department to quell political speech is scary.

Hold on to hope there, Kevin. They could still turn it around, couldn't they?

As I read the article, I think the request was that there was a violation of election law. If that's the case its certainly within his rights to request a review.

In Muncie Indiana, if you make $150,000 a year you are considered rich. I don't know about Long Island...
***
$150K in LI is merely... OK. The taxes here, especially Nassau County, are astronomical.

But Michael, Charles Schumer wrote a book about a family of four earning $75,000 living on Long Island as comfortable middle class people!

Geoff, from the article: "Obama not only aired a response ad to the spot linking him to William Ayers, but he sought to block stations the commercial by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The campaign also planned to compel advertisers to pressure stations that continue to air the anti-Obama commercial."
A sitting Senator is threatening to use the federal government to stop political speech, and to "pressure" other people to assist in this.
