Geoff,

I think Obama will win Pennsylvania (which even "elitist-extraordinaire" Massachusetts liberal Democrat John Kerry won only four years ago... remember when such a creature could safely be expected to lose 48 states?)... so, no on Casey or Rendell (shudder!).

I would have preferred Gov. Kaine of Virginia or Sen. Bayh of Indiana.  Had Gov. Mel Carnahan of Missouri lived and taken his seat in the Senate (as he won posthumously) he would have been an even better choice.  I liked him.

(P.S., would have even preferred Gen. Wes Clark, even if just for "spicing up" the ticket over Biden)

"How did anyone get newborns to display their measurable hatred?"

By offering them mashed peas.

****
Spitting out peas is "hate" now?  The PC crowd has won forever.

If the babies banded together and lynched the cook, tho, I get it.

Marc, are you saying you may not vote for Obama because he chose Biden?

This surprises me because I generally think of the VP as having little impact on the nation (Dick Cheney not withstanding).  Is Biden in a position to influence/dominate Obama's presidency somehow?

Erm, Mark, the peas thing was a joke. Was your response to it one too?

Ha! Good one!

I liked the bumper sticker "Visualize Whirled Peas". I always took it
literally...

And here I thought Hillary did a good job last night -- until I saw that CBS news had a "body language expert" who told me I was wrong.

Biden can say what Obama doesn't want to say. As a long time Dem he is exactly what this ticket needed.

Marc what made you not like Biden? here is his voting record, what on it, do you not like, I am curious about this.

http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/joe_biden.htm

I am sorry but , the Republicans talk a good game about taxes and govt spending but the numbers and FACTS just don't back it up. You all can try to scare yourselves that the dems are "Tax and Spend"  that they are going to sneak into your kids windows and steal their piggy banks, your parties president did that a long time ago, along with all branches of govt controlled by your party. Do you not understand the financial mess your party has gotten this country into? Seriously on this issue, it's kind of like a whore talking about how slutty it is, that a virgin had sex with her husband.

this is the shit that makes me see red:

These people were never Hillary supporters, typical republican fear mongering.

Edited to say I had typed this, hadn't posted it then realized Marc answered it.

My dad has a great political mind , nailed the Bidden pick a long time ago, Obama didn't take Bayh because he was from a state with a Republican Governor, who would then be able to pick his replacement, thus putting and R where a D once stood. That is why none of the choices of republican Governor ran states where picked. He thought it was Biden all the time, the other names were thrown in as an "Honor" type thing. This makes great sense to me.
