And here I thought Hillary did a good job last night -- until I saw that CBS news had a "body language expert" who told me I was wrong.
Damn it Tom, when are you going to stop thinking for yourself?! LOL

But wouldn't that be the case with any candidate from any party? Speaking to the broader notion of the above statement, and touching on a discussion several pages back, I think it's a mistake to base a vote on whether or not you agree completely 100% with everything a candidate stands for. I've been really pleased with my own personal voting record despite the fact that no candidate I've voted for has represented my views completely. I think that, in and of itself, is too high a standard. There is no one in my own personal life, people I've known going on 40 years, that I am in complete agreement with, so I find it impossible to believe that there will ever be a candidate that fully represents my beliefs. In the end, I base my vote on how close they come to not only what I believe but the future I want for this country. I think that's the best anyone can ever hope for.

Bingo! I don't think there is such a thing as perfect candidate. As I said before I vote the person as much as anything else. My political loyalty is to the United States of America not a party.

Al-- yeah, I was joking too. Everyone knows newborns don't eat peas. They eat formula like God intended.

I heard a muckraker's account of political corruption in a small town during the early 20th century. The man found corruption at all levels, resulting in progress always going in favor of the deep pockets who bought the politicians. What struck me and still lives with me is the writers conclusion that the politicians and grafters couldn't really be held at fault in the democracy because ultimately it was the voters who kept voting them back in.
If the American voters really want power, they need to pull back from the system as it stands and vote for change EVERY time. Vote the bums out. When the politicians stop looking at their elected position as a career, they'll be free to actually do their job.
I realize this doesn't sound realistic, but I believe this dynamic is true. I never feel better as a voter than when I can "vote the bums out."

Its why I voted against Dubya in 2004. I figured he needed to be fired.
