…she does have a high pitched voice…

••

I've only heard her speak once, and her voice did not sound "high" there.
Perhaps she had a cold.

On the Creation Science front --- you know, I have official stopped being
disappointed when politicians come out on this one. I almost expect it. Sign
of the times. (Sign reads "Slow Children".)

At least she hasn't come out "Full Huckabee" where you "don't believe" in evolution, period.

Well, in all fairness, the article does state the following. It's not exactly like she's clamoring to get "creationism" into the public schools:

***************

In an interview Thursday, Palin said she meant only to say that discussion of alternative views should be allowed to arise in Alaska classrooms:

"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum.

****************

(Looks like a case where the newspaper's headline didn't accurately reflect the content of the story -- or the candidate's true position.)

John, the point I was making was that those who didn't like Hillary said
she sounded "shrill" and had a "cackle" and how none of that matters.
Anyway, it really doesn't matter to me how she sounded, but what came
out of her mouth.

If McCain picked Palin in part to try to go after the support of those who
would've voted for Sen. Clinton, he made a serious error.

I'll admit that Bush and his team have done a lousy job of consensus-building and reaching out to Democrats; that's been the fatal flaw of his administration, I believe.

That and he's an idiot.

I almost fell off my chair when I read that.  :)

For the experience issue, I'd say 2 years as Governor far outweighs 4 years as in congress.  A congressman is a cog.  A governor is like the President of a state.

Plus, she will be in training as VP.  Obama would have to race out of the gate on day 1.  That's a HUGE difference.

I can't imagine Obama's campaign would go very far with that since it could be turned around on them so easily.

And she comes with some baggage as well:  http://www.anchoragepress.com/site/basicarticle.asp?ID=748

Well, who is more likely to be lying, the disgruntled trooper who was fired or the Governor who is big on ethics and proceeded to wipe out the political corruption in the state?

Unless some damning evidence turns up, it's an easy call.

Well, she loses me here:

'Creation science' enters the race GOVERNOR: Palin is only candidate to suggest it should be discussed in schools.

Curious why she loses you?

If you read it, and not just the headline, it's pretty fair.

Edit: Ah, now that I read further someone already beat me to this point.

I couldn't agree more, why is it, I keep thinking during the VP debate, Biden will say "Governor, I served with Hillary: I knew Hillary Clinton; Hillary Clinton is a friend of mine. Governor, you're no Hillary Clinton".
