I just googled Palin and it came up with this picture

Great, now she'll get Talley's vote.

She looks like the actress from Swingtown.

Not sure how that will affect the popular vote, but I think that give McCain a lock on the Erectoral College . . .

My point exactly --- which would you prefer, Emperor Palpatine or an attractive mother of five who is known for exposing government corruption?

******

A mother of five who on the one hand wants to kill people for their crimes but is also Pro-Life but that's another thread.

On another note: McCain didn't look that sure of his decision when he made the announcement and her voice does have a kind of shrill. (Not that matters, just agreeing with an earlier post).

Keith:  McCain has the election just about wrapped up.

Wallace:  Was there ever any doubt?

Well, there was in my mind.  Obama was the first democratic candidate in a long time that I seriously considered.  Especially back when the field was wide open, and I was faced with a possible Huckabee nomination.  I would have voted Obama or Hillary before that.

I thought maybe he would sweep the election purely on massive personal charisma, like a rock star... but I don't think I'm alone in getting a little annoyed at the way he's being covered.  I think a bit of backlash is forming.

Jodi: Look if you think for one mintue she was not picked because she was a woman, I have a bridge i want to sell you,

I don't see what your point is. There were plenty of other women he could have picked. And weren't many Democrats urging Obama to pick a woman for the same reasons?

Jodi: she was a mayor of a city of 8500, 8500 people, before she was a governor of Alaska!!!!!! Alaska -- a state with a population of 670000. Hey as a democrat I am thrilled with his choice. Even though I still feel it was token choice.  Now the Rush's of the world have no wind in their sails to slam Obama on lack of experience.

Sure they do. They can argue that she has actually GOVERNED...while Barack has not. Plus, Barack is the one running for president.

I graduated with a senior class of 775 I think I should have been a VP choice.

I have no idea what this means.

John: Given the fact that Palin is a Washington "outsider" with administrtive experience as a governor, a McCain/Palin ticket looks nothing like a Bush/Cheney ticket, and attacking Palin as "inexperienced" only serves to underscore Obama's own lack of experience.

Pretty masterful move by McCain, IMO.

Well put...and now I see the full strategy behind this. Pretty cagey.

I agree. I liked his speech last night...but I didn't find it earth-shattering. But the way the pundits on CNN and MSNBC gushed about it afterwards? It was ridiculous. And I DO think it's turning many people off.

Todd: Pope Benedict is the Emperor.  With no Photoshopping necessary.

Wow...that is amazing. And pretty creepy!

Democrats thought Hillary was capable of being president, not a token woman. Big Difference.

Palin is a heartbeat away from becoming president if elected, to a presidential candidate that is the oldest person to ever run for office. I have a real problem with that.

LOL I don't either I just threw it out there. LOL

pundits on CNN

They got on my last nerve, I went to PBS . Less talky.

Edited to add: Hi Todd can we be friends yet?

VPILF, Ohhhhh I just got that, not that was funny!!!!!!!

Yeah, but Obama would BE president!! Not a heartbeat away. They're both inexperienced!
