Republicans on here, sell me the McCain / Palin ticket, don't mention what you don't like about Obama, tell me why we will be better off with McCain/Palin in office.
I'm not a Republican, but I'm not sure why any of them would even take you up on that Jodi.
You come across as being so far to the left that no one could ever sell you on any Republican candidate. That would make it an exercise in futility, wouldn't it?

and she wants to have creationism taught in schools,
Another misleading statement, Jodi.
In an interview Thursday, Palin said she meant only to say that discussion of alternative views should be allowed to arise in Alaska classrooms:
"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."
She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum.

Jodi:
She is a perfect republican, pro NRA, Anti Choice, anti Gay rights and she
wants to have creationism taught in schools, a governor, is not an expert
in the laws of the land. Sounds alot like Bush to me.
****
Me too. The McCain ticket looks like the Bush ticket if you switch the VP
and the Presidential candidates.
Which is a great thing for Obama--had McCain separated himself from
that hard core right wing with the pick of someone like Lieberman, he
would've seemed less like the typical old-school Republican he's been
painting himself as for the past several months (just so he can woo that
base that had doubts about him).
Now that his ticket is an obvious Republican brand (capital "R") and that
brand has been so devalued by Bush, I'm one smiling Democrat.

Another misleading statement, Jodi
direct quote:"Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information....Healthy debate is so important and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both. And you know, I say this too as the daughter of a science teacher. Growing up with being so privileged and blessed to be given a lot of information on, on both sides of the subject -- creationism and evolution. It's been a healthy foundation for me. But don't be afraid of information and let kids debate both sides."

Gary I first heard about her and was told she was a pro-choice, pro gay rights Governor and a woman, and I thought "Crap Obama's in trouble"

Jodi: Republicans on here, sell me the McCain / Palin ticket, don't

I'm not hugely sold on McCain; not the worst candidate, not the best (that would have been Ron Paul!).
But that said, of his stated policies, I agree with his stand in Iraq; we are in it, we stick it out 'til it's done. In general, I think he will be good for foreign policy. I don't care if any other country likes us, just that they worry about crossing us. Economically, McCain is for reducing taxes and slowing the growth of government. I'd prefer large cuts, but that ain't happenin' in today's world.
The main problem I have with McCain is civil rights. His election reform act was an atrocious abridgment of free speech.
However, on a gut level, I also am incredibly awed by what the man went through in the war. I heard some nitwit saying that McCain's POW experience was a negative. That's insane. The man went through years of torture, and handled it. That sort of experience can break a man or make him stronger, and it didn't break him.
I can't speak as much to Palin, other than that she seems like the perfect strategic choice for VP. In another post I said she looks like a perfect republican; but personally I don't agree 100% with the republican platforms. But she seems tough, and I like that she worked to help nail corrupt members of her own party.
What sells me on candidates very well may turn you off, though.

Ummm.......ooookaaaaay.....Jodi...? Did you read the article I linked to? It's where she explained exactly what she meant in the article you are quoting.
So, like I said. You were being misleading.

She is a woman, and she has basically the same stance as Obama regarding gay rights. She isn't pro-choice, though. Two out of three?

So she was backpeddling??????? How is quoting her exactly, misleading?????
Keith Stop baiting me, I need to go write my weekly blog. :0) Damn I miss O'Brien
Edited to add: Keith thanks for answering my question, I agree with some of what you mentioned as their pro's and I think, are very good things. I think if McCain gets in, his more Moderate republican beliefs will come out, or I would hope.

Token or not, from the peanut gallery distance, Palin as VP looks like a cold calculated move, much like Biden for Obama.
I think you're right. I mean, as funny as he was with Monty Python, I'm pretty sure a Brit can't even be vice-president!

-----
The woman says "I am a proponent of teaching both," then changes her
story to "it doesn't have to be part of the curriculum," and you accuse JODI of
being misleading?
I think she explained "exactly what she meant" the first time around. The
"clarification" looks a lot like obfuscation to me.

So she was backpeddling???????
Yes, 2 years ago (before she was Governor of Alaska) she thought "Hmmm, in 2 years I might get a chance to be Vice President so I better backpeddle." Clarification doesn't mean backpeddling.
And does an Obama supporter really want to go the backpeddling route? That would be like slamming her for inexperience.
