Co-President?  Co-President??  Nope, no such office in our constitution.  She was not running for ANY office back then.  Try again.

Yeah! Because god knows nothing was said about Chelsea Clinton while her father was in office.

Christ, McCain made a joke about how ugly she was once.

Let's see if the "moral" majority can take it now.

William,

Forgot about that one!  Excellent example.

Marc,

Reading not your strong suit?  You seem to continually miss key words: "practically."   Don't for a second pretend that large amount of Clinton supporters have always regarded them as a package deal.

Thom,

You said she was "practically running", not running for "practically co-president" ... for example, you can be "practically running for mayor" --- try again.  And if you think I care that you think i'm stupid, then you're so wrong... as far as my life goes, you are a faceless poster possibly named Thom Price.  It stops there.  Thanks anyway.

Also, I voted for Bill TWICE... not only was I NOT voting for Hillary then, I still didn't like her enough to vote for her in this year's Democratic Primary.

So two wrongs made a right? TONS of people were outraged at the cruel attacks on Chelsea (including a tasteless SNL reference). So instead of urging our people to be BETTER than that, we cheer when they sink into the same gutter?

And Hilary, as "first lady" is much more fair game...especially since she was taking an active role in her husband's administration (esp. re: a national healthcare plan).

Bringing Palin's daughter (or husband) into this is no more relevant than when Al Gore's son was made a media story.

Plus, how much time and brain matter (what little we have) is being wasted on this crap and not the real issues?

George Bush was himself a self-confessed drunk driver, and still won two
terms as President. I don't see this story influencing anyone.

No Marc. I quit both parties because there is no real difference between them.

edited to add Kudos to Joel's comments.

Hillary was a hands-on, deeply involved component of Bill's campaign and little secret was made that she would be an active part of his administration -- far more than a traditional First Lady.  Whether that's "practically running" or "running practically" is irrelevent to me; it was well known that Bill & Hillary were "practically" a two-fer.

I stand by my point; your example of using Hillary as a family member attacked as part of the campaign was a bad one -- she was actively part of the campaign.  Now William bring up Chelsea is a very good point.

Again, that has what to do with anything I wrote?  Did I say that "all" Clinton supporters voted for both of them?  No.  You really like responding to things that were never said.

Your Candidate wants you to back off, Marc.

have said before and I will repeat again: People's families are off limits," Obama said. "And people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics."

Well then, I give Obama props.  I've been wondering when/if he would say something along the lines of "knock it off guys, this isn't what I stand for."  Good for him.  Of course, one man does not a political movement make.  Obama can take the high road all he wants, but it doesn't change anything if his campaign and followers continue to take the low road.

Well Christopher he's not going to say 'Sic her my internet attack dogs! Hit them with whatever you got, I'll keep my hands clean.'

Just because Barack Obama says that those afraid of a McCain/Palin victory should play with kid gloves while the opposition hits them in the crotch with hammers every time they get the chance it doesn't mean they have to agree. Palin is running on a hockey mom platform. She's already used her family for political gain plenty.

And hey, if Bristol is old enough to have sex and get married, she's old enough to have the full weight of the media's spotlight on her. She's a teenage daughter of a beauty pageant contestant - chances are she's loving it.
