Scott,
Then there are quite an awful lot of nut jobs in the USA because once you start peeling the onion people label their beliefs you find things underneath and many actually believe the above even though they could not even define the terms.
The word nutjob was not mine. I was quoting from another post. Perhaps you meant to direct this toward the OP?

I was trying to find a way to put that myself that wouldn't cause Scott to put me back on ignore again, Mike.
LOL. No worries Al. I'm not going to put you on ignore as long as you play nice. I have no problem with shooting the message, just not the messenger unless it's in a obvious playful way in response to a like action. :)

The "Obama will destroy America" notion strikes me as irrational, but I don't
think it was ever meant seriously.

I don't know about the labels: socialist, etc.
What do they mean?
So many Americans have these labels they apply to people and I am confused.
I always used to say there were more socialists at Harvard than in Russia as a joke but who knows? I don't think labels apply anymore. The GOP isn't the part of Lincoln is it? The Dems are not what they were either.
Have fun.

Correct Al. It meant as bad off as I think America may be currently, it would be worse, IMO, under Obama. So many Obama supporters say Bush has nearly destroyed America so I was indicating that if that were the case then, IMO, Obama would be the final push to get there.

I'm trying to think positive: once Bush is gone maybe the country can begin its trek back to sanity.

I like the way that Hagerman thinks; even though he's a Steelers fan. ;)

Fascinating readings from an outside point of view.
As I said before, America will still be America for the rest of the world... in bad and good ways...

Exhibit A: "We'd end up becoming a socialist nation, something I'm extremely opposed to."
Scott, for god's sake, it's bad enough you're a nutjob, don't stoop to common foolishness, too!

To carry my meme forward, "Obama will destroy America" is crazy. "Obama will bring America closer to destruction"... well, that's open to debate.

Likely a meaningless debate, though, unless every party in said debate
values the same things about America.

Here's hoping it can be done in a reasonable time frame. I'm almost 51....I'd like to have something to look forward to in my old age.
