Yeah, Steve, that's a bizarre assessment - we're all appalled at her because a dead vagrant is better suited to run the nation than her. I never thought anyone could be less qualified than GWB, but there go the Republicans, proving me wrong again.
And this isn't some "Ha ha - Dan Quayle is a moron" thing - odds are McCain will shuffle off the ol' Mortal Coil sometime in the next few years. His Veep will be the next President if he wins. The apalling part is that he may as well have trotted out a poodle or a spider monkey or a Charlie McCarthy puppet and announced that it was his running mate. Well... except none of those animals/things are headed for jail...
I don't even mind McCain so much - if it were him against a bad democrat, like Gore or Kerry, I might have thought about voting for him. But Obama is the best candidate in my lifetime, so McCain doesn't stand a chance, and now, with him picking a fool - and a religious zealot proto-fascist, though, you know, that's redundant - he's way out of the running now.
Keith, not weak, but accurate. If she didn't want to do the time, she shouldn't have committed the crime.

I think Steve has a point, although he can't generalize to ALL democrats. But the way Palin has been attacked is disgusting. Attacks are part of the game, but I never imagined the amount of gender-specific insults and criticism that would come from commentators.
If the Republican candidate were black (instead of the Democrat), I truly think the moveon.org crowd would be doing a whispering campaign to stir up racial fears.

Daniel,
You have some nerve... you might be THE single MOST idealogical, biased person on this forum.

Oh, yes, and by the way - something Dems are learning this year - we can't let these lies the Republicans throw at us stick - Steve, (and Keith, I suppose) - show me where I, in my critique of Pailin, used her sex as an issue.
When you don't find it, I fully expect an apology for slandering my character.
You don't have to sell out completely - you can say "Screw you and your Democratic Lower Tax Policy for the Working Class you dumb prick, but we were wrong to accuse you of mysoginy."

Gee whiz, Keith. Tell me about the substantive critique in Daniel's response that I failed to answer.
He said Mike's comments were classless. They were; Mike normally keeps things at a much higher level than that.
In response, you insulted him.
That was weak.

Keith, in all fairness, you should talk to Dave Pruitt - he seems to think I'm capible of much worse.

Mike, didn't say anything about you being a sexist. I said there's a number of commentators using sexist tactics in their attacks. And I don't think they're actually sexist; I think they simply want to win, and think that attacking Palin's mothering skills is a strategem. They've calculated that attacking a woman through her children will be more effective than it would be with a male candidate.
What was weak on your part had nothing to do with sexism. It was a post that was absolutely contentless except for a succession of insults. Not even clever ones, just grade school "she's stupid" namecalling.
And this isn't some "Ha ha - Dan Quayle is a moron" thing - odds are
McCain will shuffle off the ol' Mortal Coil sometime in the next few
years. His Veep will be the next President if he wins. The apalling
part is that he may as well have trotted out a poodle or a spider
monkey or a Charlie McCarthy puppet and announced that it was his
running mate. Well... except none of those animals/things are headed
for jail...
Saying Palin is going to Jail is as ridiculous as assertion as saying she faked her pregnancy. Good Lord. Mike, you're being gullible for even repeating it.
Palin is every bit as qualified to be VP as Obama is for President. That is a losing argument for Obama supporters... when you're comparing the experience of the two, you're left with one conclusion: Neither of them have much political experience.
And that's fine with me. I consider it a plus for both of them.
I think this is what Steve was refering to when he said:
Democrats seem almost infuriated by her and I'm not sure why that is, a
theory I've seen is that Democrats feel that any successful career
woman should be on their side and any that aren't are somehow traitors
to the cause.
He may or may not be right about the cause; but for some reason, Palin has seemed to send a lot of Democrats into an absolute fit. They seem personally insulted by it, or outraged, or something.
Treat Palin as Civilly as Obama should be treated. Treat McCain as civilly as Biden should be treated. This is how it should be done.

Ted, I think you are confused. I don't see anything I've ever said on that page. Do you need to have the definition of hypocrite explained?

Oh, wait, I understand. You are confusing the concept of "individual" and "political party". They are not the same, even though that's a common mistake.
