Haven't you heard?  I'm a filthy degenerate.  At least, that's what they say on the JBF.

I couldn't care less what they say.  And if you were degenerate, that doesn't mean your politics are wrong.

Edit:  God, I HOPE degeneracy doesn't invalidate arguments, because I might just have to bow out.

Do you need to have the definition of hypocrite explained?

No, but let me know if you do.

Ted, if you really do not understand my response then <sigh>

Um, okay.  Sigh.

Yeesh.

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that."
-- Gov. Sarah Palin, urging Pentecostal congregants to pray for a $30 billion natural gas pipeline project that she wanted built in her state

I can beat that. From Obama's website. Just a piece of a much longer prayer.

Father-God, and when he (Barack Obama) becomes this Nation’s Commander and Chief, give him the mind, intelligence and discernment to surround himself with a cabinet that will fear and admonish you, a cabinet that will follow him as he follows you. We pray for all those who are in authority from the least to the greatest. We pray for all the supporters who stand with the Obama campaign, openly and secretly. We pray and ask that your goodness and mercy follow him into the White House, and every other House. Give him the intelligence to deal with the issues and legislature of the Iraq War, Health Care, NAFTA, and every governmental issue that affects these United States of America.

Seems it's a safe bet that Palin will get the crackpot vote.

And one written by Obama himself. -

"Lord—Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

Democrats seem almost infuriated by her and I'm not sure why that is, a theory I've seen is that Democrats feel that any successful career woman should be on their side and any that aren't are somehow traitors to the cause.

**********

As one Democrat I can give you many reasons I don't like her:

1.She opposes abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

2.She wants to teach creationism in the classroom.

3.She opposes gay rights.

Can't bring myself to vote for anyone who believes in any of those positions.

Edited to add: all the above stances infuriate me. I could give a shit less if she's a successful career woman. McCain could have picked someone closer to his own beliefs and instead chose to bow to the will of the religious right.

Let's see, Palin urges the religious to pray for a capital project.

Obama prays for guidance and good leadership.

I'm pretty sure you were trying to point out how selfish and shallow Palin
comes across compared to Obama there.

Or maybe it was that Palin can be depended on because she's only
pretending to be religious and manipulating those with real faith because
it's advantageous to her agenda, whereas that crazy Obama actually is
religious and lives his faith.

Thanks for that - just knowing that about him has made me loose all
respect for him now.

Obama prays to become an intrument of God's will. That sounds scary.
