Lets stop making our posts personal, attack the candidates if you like, but take the personal stuff off the table.

Hopefully Mike has noticed that not even his friends have supported his behavior though several people have called him on it.  I'll happily end it here as long as he behaves.  :)

Yes, they weren't supporting Hillary because she was a woman, but that, among other reasons, her policies were favorable towards women.  Pailin?  Not so much.

Pailin was brought in to solidify the base, and it worked.  All the fundementalists who were planning to sit this one out, or vote for Bob Barr are back in the race, and I have to say - that did give me chills for a moment, however, it's already looking like Pailin is scaring away the independants, so... I'm back to being sure Obama will win.  It won't be the landslide it could've been if the nuts had sat it out, but he'll still beat McCain.

I read (in the source that must not be named) that she used to be a TV sports reporter. I guess that puts her in the lead for that all important "Candidate you'd most like to have a beer with." demographic;   An attractive woman who knows about sports and likes guns.

Forget about the women who supported Hillary. McCain is going after their husbands' votes.

Scott - let's be clear here - I have no friends on here.  You don't like my behavior, stop the converstion.  I'm not randomly attacking you - I post something, you toss me snark, I toss it back.

Hmmm...don't give a rip about sports, can't stand guns.

Attractive woman?  As How I Met Your Mother demonstrated, even drop-dead gorgeous women like Morena Baccarin can have the Crazy Eyes and cause you to flee.  Not to mention Barney's "Hot to Crazy" chart.  (And, I'd be glad to link to videos of both, if work weren't temporarily blocking any and all streaming video.)  And lemme tell ya...these are Crazy Eyes

Nope...the sportscaster thing makes me even more scared of her.

Mike, I partially agree, at least about Palin's effect.  It seemed like the initial punditry was that this was to pull in moderate women, Hillary supporters; I don't know if that is working, but its primary effect seems instead to have excited the hardcore conservatives.  That doesn't switch anybody's vote from Obama to McCain, although it might cause somebody to vote who otherwise would have sat out the election.

And that's good for McCain, but probably not all he was hoping for.  We'll have to wait a week or two to get reasonable polling numbers.  If it doesn't bring any moderates over, then maybe Leiberman would have been a better choice.

Is there a set debate schedule yet?  I heard the VP debate was towards the end of September, but haven't heard dates on the presidential debates.

Scott don't think I directed that comment to only Mike, I think Mike is a pretty good guy. I just don't want the great points he's making, muddled with the pissing match you guys had going.

I can't deal with guns, but the other two I like, but I prefer this attractive woman who knows about sports!

We had over 200 fairly civil pages.  Let's try to get that vibe back.

Take one, pass it on.

I think Geoff should have chosen McCain's running mate.

Someone may have already posted this and if so I am sorry, but I just saw it and it cracked me up.

Mike I look at you as my internet friend too. You brought peace to Geoff and I, I would call Geoff a friend now and you were the peacemaker.
