IIRC, Obama initially agreed to or was open to doing a Lincoln/Douglas style of debates that McCain had mentioned.  It's when McCain changed it to a "townhall" style is when Obama said, "thanks, but no thanks."

Bruce yes when I pointed out an article about what picture that was behind McCain, that completely goes into trashing the troops. Wait I called McCain a man, and other people have called Hitler a man, therefore under your reasoning I must think McCain is the same as Hitler.

Where in the link that I posted does it trash the troops? Where in my post did I trash the troops?  I thought when I saw the speech that it was a picture of one of his houses. The article I posted cleared that up for me.

They accuse Obama of having no experience, but... Pailin.

They take on Obama's wife, but... cry about coverage of Pailin's family.

They whine that Obama won't debate but... they're not letting Pailin talk to reporters (except, in the best Bush/Rove style, pre-approved FOX news reporters who will only lob softballs and gush)

They claim Dems are mindlesss zealots following a messiah... but practically orgasm all over themselves at Pailin

If this whole campaign was just an Onion-y farce and the Republicans are taking the piss, I saulte them and say brave move!

Jodi, I certainly didn't say you were trashing the troops. Nor did I say you agreed with those sentiments. I just clicked on the link you provided, found this article on the same site, and thought it was, well, disgusting and disturbing enough to mention.
