But Keith, see - they did it first - so they look like the fools.

If I punch you in the face, and you punch me back, are you the asshole, or am I the asshole?

It's me.  I'm the asshole.

Nice try, though.

Good points Mike, I was thinking the same thing myself last night watching the speech McCain gave.  They keep talking about change and getting new people into Washington, but they're the ones that have been in charge for six out of the last eight years of both houses and the executive branch!

Explain this to me, the republicans last night showed a tribute to 9/11, why would they show this and then say they will keep us safe, it happened under their watch.

They have not caught the man behind the attack. What was the purpose, other than to scare us? If it was on 9/11 I could see doing a rememberence or moment of silence.  I am not trying to attack them on this I just didn't get that part.

Christopher, you're aware of the investigation going on, yes?  True, odds are she'll just be removed from office and not imprisoned, but... you can always hope.

She fired a guy and offered him another job which he refused. She should get the chair for that!

Cheney and Lieberman seem like twins to me.  I can see why they would get along.

I wonder why the Democrats even allow Lieberman to be a Democrat anymore?  Isn't he on the Straight Talk Express, or the bus, or something with McCain?

I am sure Lieberman is quite close to Cheney.  I wouldn't go so far to say he would go hunting with the man.

How does Lieberman go over with all those evangelicals McCain is counting on for votes?  Joe is pro-abortion and all.

Remember what Obama said - "John McCain likes to say that he'll follow bin Laden to the Gates of Hell - but he won't even go to the cave where he lives."

Republicans milk 9/11 - to supress freedoms and get us into a war that had nothing to do with 9/11, but when Obama suggests we go to Pakistan to get him, they say he's politically naive.

Well, yeah, he's naive in that he's not manipulating people with fear to gain financial reward, but...

Um.  Not to mention, you know, Jewish.

**********

That may be a glass house, Mike. Both parties have done more than their fair share of fear-mongering over the years, just in different ways.

Republicans play on fears about national security, while Democrats play on fears that the most vulnerable (usually, the elderly) will be neglected. So if you elect the Democrats, the terrorists will run wild in the streets of Peoria and Green Bay. And if you elect Republicans, grandma and grandpa will be eating dog food and sleeping in a cardboard box.

In both cases, there may be a kernel of truth there. But both sides exaggerate the truth, so the opposition becomes the Boogey Man.

Evangelicals love the Jews. We're going to help bring the Second Coming and all. Or something.

And my brain goes blank every time the Republicans bring up 9/11*: like in the 2004 election campaign Bush and friends brought up repeatedly that the "terrism" we saw with 9/11 would not happen again because of his leadership.

Okay, but it happened the *first* time under his leadership. And after the administration had been told to watch out for this guy.

It might be a good time to *not* bring that up again.

*as i guess theirs does, such as McCain "forgetting" to mention Bush by name when talking about the leadership following 9/11...
