She accepted the nomination -- the debate goes along with that. She's not at the debate to spout McCain's positions; she's there to tell us her own.
I disagree with this statement. She IS there to represent McCain's positions and policies. They both are, and they both should do all they can to talk up their boss's.

She's pushing straight talk to the audience, not answering Biden the way he wants, but how she feels plain folk want to hear it. She's trying not to play by Biden's rules, a good tactic by her.
Biden is a great debater, so much experience.
Edit: Let me throw this in, and I'm a conservative, but I think the Secretary of the Treasury needs to be shown to the curb. Fire his ass. There is way too much opportunity for conflict of interest here, especially with what I've seen in the last two to three weeks.
After the debate, can everyone give me their opinion on whether they thought the moderator was nuetral?

You don't have to bother putting a "but" in that sentence. There's very little that's actually conservative in today's Republican Party.

Way to ignore what I'm saying, and go right to knocking who's saying it. You should run for office.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Of course they should talk up their policies. Being Vice Presidential candidates you would hope that they side on a majority of the issues with their respective running mates. But these two may potentially become President. With that knowledge, I want to know who I'm putting second in line to the most powerful and important job in this country. I don't want someone simply parroting the views of their Presidential candidate, I want to know where they stand, how they come off as human beings, who I can put my faith and trust in. I certainly can't do that if all they do is "talk up their boss's".

In exchange for giving in to the Republicans on the format issues, the Democrats demanded podiums rather than having them sit at a round table like the last two VP debates. I think that was a very wise choice. Sitting at a table just makes things feel more folksy and informal, and I think that would have played to Palin's strengths. When you stand behind a podium, people have a greater expectation you should have something important to say, and that you should know what you're talking about. An expert stands at a podium, a friend sits at a table.

I thought Biden did well, I thought Palin did well. Ultimately I think Biden
did better but I think she did what she needed to do, which is stop the
bleeding from the horrible Couric interviews.

I think Biden did very well , respectful, informed and very presidential looking, I could sleep well knowing he would be a heartbeat away from the red phone. Palin did well, but I expected she would. I don't think she swung any of those that did not like her, into her camp and I don't think she preformed well enough to have the undecided flock to the McCain/Palin ticket. I think those that were leaning towards Obama are now solid in his camp. And Palin made happy those that are the strong republican base.
I am pretty happy tonight.

We missed the first 40 minutes, I will put it on my iPod and listen to it
tomorrow at work. But I thought Biden definitely won, although I suspect
Palin did well for her "energized" base like Jodi said. We'll see what happens.
Both debates so far have been good.
