Penn -- man, I wish I'd had you as a professor.  I bet I would dig your class.  Thank you for that thoughtful and intelligent response.

Thanks, Tom!

Of course, then I go and randomly check something like "ratemyprofessors" and I discover that I'm a horrible teacher because I cancel classes without notice, I cut short lectures, I do not return assignments promptly... and that I'm ugly, smell foul, and a bad dresser to boot.

Obama didn't earn his place on the ticket.  The media gave it to him.

----------------------------

You might want to pass that on to all the people that voted for him.

Damn.

Next time I'll just let the media do my voting for me.

"Excuse me, Mr. O'Reilly, who would you vote for?  Anyone but Obama?  Got it, thanks."

I saw a piece where Obama was handed quite a bit while in office in Illinois from elected officials already in place for quite some time. Things not normally given to the "new" guy.

Hilary got her shot by marrying the right man ...

Palin got her shot by looking good and catching McCain's eye ...

McCain got his shot by having everything handed to him on a silver platter by his daddy's friends ...

And you want to talk about free tickets?

The fact that you say Palin has even less experience than Obama is what's mind boggling.  While Palin only has a little executive experience Obama has none.

**********

What executive experience does Palin? Governor of Alaska. That's more experience than Obama? He served in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004 and the U.S. Senate since then. He has 11 years in political office. He's on the Senate committees for foreign relations, environmental and public works and veteran affairs. He serves on the health, education, labor and pensions and homeland security and governmental affairs committees. He's also chairman of the subcommittee for European affairs. As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama has made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

Now I realize to you this means less experience than being mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska but it doesn't to me.

But then again she is closer to Russia.

Yep, that's why I'm voting for him. Good thing I wasn't watching Fox News or I might just vote for McCain. I'm so stoopid.

As if Palin earned her place.

Michael:
I'm sure you're a good prof -- law students tend to be complainers! I totally
agree with your analysis and assessment -- I wanted to confirm I wasn't the
only one who heard that and said "what?!?!?" I wonder if she's read the
constitution. Which raises a question to the board:

How well versed in the constitution (or constitutional law) should a president
(or vice president) be?

I take it all in stride, Geoff, for sure. The insulting comments about my smells and clothing are funny enough, for what they are. But that the internet gives students a freewheeling opportunity to post absolutely anything, true or not, attached to any teacher's name is quite disturbing.

And yet again, in one sentence, you sum up a huge problem.
