Michael Penn Thanks so much for explaining the VP's role and powers he should hold.  Very easy to understand, I would love to take your class.

How well versed in the constitution (or constitutional law) should a president
(or vice president) be?

After the last eight years, we can see how important it should be.

But that the internet gives students a freewheeling opportunity to post absolutely anything, true or not, attached to any teacher's name is quite disturbing

Worst part of the internet,  there is now a thing called "Juicy" on campuses, my son says it's the most racist, homophobic and nasty site there is and doesn't understand how the site stays up.

How much executive experience did John Kennedy have? Or George H.W. Bush? Requiring previous executive experience disqualifies almost every American from holding executive office. Saying "some" experience is preferable to "no" experience would depend largely upon what a person had accomplished with that "some" experience, wouldn't it?

Or am I misunderstanding something?

Somewhere in Scott's brain, is that little democrat voice, screaming at his choices and his posts on here are more of an attempt to drown out that voice. For a person that ever identified being democrat to defind Sarah Palin is mind boggling.

Yeah, that media did a great job of suppressing that Wright stuff for their boy Obama.

Wait Obama had a preacher?! Shit I don't believe in god, so I guess I'm screwed. LOL

I think it's funny that Sarah is a person that would continue to go to a church that thinks she needs protected from witchcraft. The moment he said that, I would have taken their hands off of me and said "Whoa what the f*ck did you just say?"

Eyes on the prize: no matter who wins, Bush is out.

I just pee'd my pants with excitement. LOL

Obama's would be the worst presidency ever.

I'm still wondering how we survived these last 4 years of a Kerry presidency.

Scott, weren't you a Hillary supporter?  Why didn't her total lack of executive experience concern you?  And what about McCain?  What's his executive experience?

Presidents that had no prior executive experience include Madison, Lincoln, and Kennedy.

How important is executive experience, anyway?  Does it make any governor inherently more qualified to be President than any senator?  Would it make a mayor more qualified to be President than a senator?

Did you forget to complete the list?  I see where you listed Palin's executive experience but I'm still looking for the executive experience listed for Obama.

**********

You actually think that makes her more qualified. Or even qualified. You must be high. List all the attributes you think make her qualified then. I listed why I think Obama is, now you do the same.

Sorry, I don't think Obama is qualified so my list would be empty.  As for Palin, is she ready for the Presidency on day 1?  Nope.  She would learn quickly and be ready shortly thereafter.  Thankfully, she's not running for President so doesn't need to be ready on day 1.  Obama is though but people seem to be fine with on the job training for him.

Not if you have an open mind it isn't.  I already explained to you Jodi, that I'm only liberal on social issues and that the issues I'm conservative about are the trumping those social issues in the current election.  It's not a complex idea.  It's actually very simple.  I'm not sure why you find it mind boggling.

Jason, you don't remember from the last time you asked me about Clinton?  Pretty much every decision she would make, she would have the best advisor she could have hoped for.  One with more executive experience than any of the candidates  Bill Clinton.

What on the job training Scott?  Who has ever entered the office of President with the experience of being President?

(By the way - one man - guess who!  I'll invisio text the answer:  Grover Cleveland)

This is a really desperate arguement - this idea that she's got more experience because she ran a city and a state.  Obama has run a campaign that was bigger than her city. The Mayor of San Francisco runs a city with more people than her state.  7 square miles of San Francisco has more people than her state - the physically largest in the union.  That's the "executive experience" that FOX news is so hot about?

You know what you need on Day 1?  A brain. You need wisdom and intellegence.  You need to know how to understand the way the world works and how to handle situations.

Obama is that person.  McCain could be, with help.  Palin will never be.

My vote doesn't count but I would be more likely to vote for McCain without Palin. She scares me. She did a terrible job of defending her running mate in the debate and when asked how her administration would be different than his she said she has very different views than him. WRONG. The correct answer is that you would continue his plan until you are elected President. Then you have mandate to put your plans into action.
