There's a nice example of one of your twists.  Please provide a link to where Palin said you can pray the gay away.  Give me a direct quote and link.

No, Scott, that's her preacher talking.  You know, her Jeremiah Wright?

Bingo.

I was waiting for William to say that so I could throw Wright back in his face.  Based on what William said, Obama is Rev. Wright if Palin is her preacher.

Mike, those photo's are so accurate.

The cost in tax dollars of the Obama and Biden mobiles would be astronomical compared to the cost of the McCain and Palin mobiles.

Hmm...!  John McCain pledges to give up on issues and logic and just go mean... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27018572/

Let's see how THAT works!

Fact of the matter - it did work for him for a while - the more negative ads he ran, the more his numbers went up.  He was throwing bloody raw steak to the lions.

BUT!  Then they trotted out Failin, and the message shifted to "Boo hoo, leave her alone, she's a precious flower." so once again - for the umpteenth time on the campaign, they are doing a huge public flip-flop - and the poll numbers show the public and indies are pretty sick of that same ol' same ol' crap out of a supposed "maverick".

And then there's that - if he's such a "maverick" and Washington outsider, why resort to the same old, same old dirty politics?

Just like his bizarrely misguided "I'm closing up shop to go fix the ecom-o-nee!" debacle, I predict that this will ultimately backfire on him too.  There will be a slight bump in his numbers as he appeals to the pricks in America who like a good blood letting, and all the people who ,,, you know... they can't put their finger on it, but they just don't like that ni -  oops, they mean, Obama....

Anyway - Gov. Failin is already trotting out her new memorized lines -(http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/P/PALIN_OBAMA?SITE=AP) awesome to see Sean Hannity dictating the course of the campaign.  If I were a Republican, I'd have a tough choice between ritualistic suicide or packing up and going to live on Mars or Atlantis.

Based on what William said, Obama is Rev. Wright if Palin is her preacher.

How's that now?  So... Palin's preacher believes in witchcraft and praying away gay, and Obama's believes that blacks have been treated unfairly, and you're ...

Wait, you're siding with... Palin's ... preacher... because...

Wait, God Damnit, Scott, you've got me all confused.  Because, you know, point of fact, blacks have been treated unfairly, and, you know, if gays are prayed away, well... uh... some of my best pals on the JBF will be gone.  And some who are not my best pals, but I debate with a lot on the politics thread... hm...

Me am con-foo-sed.  You're ok with those preacher comparisons... how?

Yes, yes, that's nice - all I know is I'm getting a pretty fat tax cut under Obama - and I'm pretty sure about 97% of this board is, too.  I know that prick Tim O'Neill makes over $272,000 a year, so he'll be paying a little more, but hell, when you make that kind of scratch, you might not notice a few hundred bucks - it's the way you or I toss around $20 bills.

Once again - anyone who thinks Obama is a bastion of the Big Bad Left would pee themselves until dust came out if they ever saw a real leftist.  They're virtually extinct in this country.  Attempts to breed Kucinich have been enthusiastic but unsuccessful.

Kevin - where I'm from they're still a dime a dozen - and they're annoying as hell, too.  But that's where my political leanings were shaped, and that's why, despite his staunch right-wing ways, this native San Franciscan will STILL vote for that hard-line conservative, possibly John Bircher, Barack Obama!

(I've been to Madison Wisconsin this summer.  They're still pretty good with lefty politics.  Berkeley is good too.  I hear the same about Austin.  Portland, to some degree.)

I must!  My head is all mixed up - I seem to recall you identifying yourself as a homosexual - I hope I remember that right - and if so, you're more ok with a preacher that would "pray away gay" than one that is commenting on what we accept to be historically true?  That blacks have been given a bad hand?  Look - I'll admit, some of his examples are wrong, but I still stand firm in my belief that the American blacks have had a rough time of it.

So... having said all that... like... you still...?  Yeah, I must confuse easily. Anyone want to try to walk me through this?

You know that?  Obama has the power to just make that happen?  Saying something doesn't make it a done deal.

Now I'm guessing if, if he is able to get a tax cut through, by the end of his term he'll have added more taxes to the point where everyone will be paying much more than they would have since he'll have to come up with the tax dollars to pay for his grand plan.

Palin's preacher is harmless.  Wright is militant.  So yes, I don't worry about harmless crackpots, but I do worry about someone who is able to rally large numbers of people.

As for people having it rough, lots of people have it rough.  Some people rise above it and over come it and make lemonade out of the lemons.  Others just whine and moan thinking it's not fair and that everyone should just give them lemonade since they don't want to have to actually put in the effort to make their own.

No, see, it will pass because he's going to have a Dem Congress (er, we are mostly sure about that...!)  - and I have no concerns that this plan will back fire - it was on this very board - dozens of pages back, where someone linked to an article by economists that note that neither Obama nor McCain's tax plans will balance the budget.

Having said that - now? In the year 2008?  I think we can finally put to rest the idea that Dems are "tax and spend" and Repubs are fiscally conservative.

Repubs spend tax money like drunken sailors, and Clinton delivered a mighty surplus.

Hell - dig me here in my home state - the Repubs fought a dirty fight and got Gray Davis recalled from office, claiming he messed up the budget - this was back in 2003.  The budget has gotten WORSE with that moron Ah-Nuld in office!  Where's the recall of that dumb prick?

Weeeellll... fact of the matter - despite me not voting for him or the rotton way he took power... I have to conceed, he's the type of Republican we need in office - he's very liberal on social issues, so... I'm cool with him.  I'll never vote for him, but I'm ok with him in office.  Which is how I felt about McCain - at least, before the Palin fiasco or the multitude of bad choices, flip-flops and stumbles he's made on the campaign.  I haven't seen a campaign run this poorly since... uh....

 <--- Bob Dole.

Ok!  Let me see if I got this correct - this is your summation of the Black Diaspora and Experience in America?
