Jodi I would also like to ask, is there ever a
situation where the democratic black caucus can be
rightly criticized without calling the critic a racist?
Surely you can understand that there are racist attacks
and then there are true mistakes that could have been
avoided.

But he didn't point to the comments for the substance of his post, Jodi.  If we're directly responsible for the idiots that comment on YouTube videos we link to, then we all go down.  YouTube comments are the product of anonymity & stupidity.

Scott,

Can you please read this (it is a bit long) and then you can tell me what you think about the financial crisis again.

Um.  But here's the thing - our current credit problem is not the fault of black people.

This is not about blaming black people Jodi, and I have
no connection to idiots posting on You tube, I didn't
even read the first one.

Mike if you can point out where the democrats attempted
to pass a bill to stop this I would be glad to read it.

Kevin I had a problem with video before I read the comments I actually read the comments after I came here started to post then went back and rewatched so I wasn't judging it unfairly,(but did you read all the comments for the video?) Go look at the guys stuff that created this video. This goes back to the days of painting a person of color as "the boogyman" it is crap. Loving your party is one thing, but to post videos like the one he did is another.

I agree with that statement. But there were two sides to
this issue and one side voted to let it keep going while
the other saw a problem and attempted to stop it.

You can't agree with my statement and then go on to say the exact opposite!  The sides to this issue are not as black and white as you want to make them.  It wasn't all Democrats continuing poor economic policy while all Republicans were visionaries.  The roots of this crisis didn't start with a Democratic controlled House and Senate.  It's not only because of the housing and lending crisis.  It's not just caused by legislation and/or policy from the Clinton Administration.  It's roots go back well over a decade and include contributing factors from both the Clinton and Bush Administration, by both a Republican controlled House and Senate to one controlled by Democrats.  In other words, there's not one party that was filled with visionaries bravely fighting to stop an impending economic crisis while another party wrung their hands and laughed manically.

I agree that Republicans are not visionaries without
fault, that is what I mean Matt. I'm talking about the
one moment where, after all these mistakes were made by
all, there was an attempt to fix the problem, and the
democrats blocked it from happening.

You can set the money issue aside if you like, but the
original fact you were missing, and asking about, was
that Republicans did attempt to do something about the
issue.

I just threw in the money thing at the bottom and that's
what you latch onto.

***********

I latched onto nothing. I asked you to provide links that say how the Dems stopped a Republican controlled Congress from fixing this mess before it happened. See my post 5 below the one where you blame the Dems for the whole mess. Still waiting.

You added the bit about the money Dodd and Obama got for no reason then?

I blame the crisis on people for whom being fabulously wealthy and successful just wasn't enough.  Look at Enron.  How the hell do you go bankrupt selling energy in America?

Thomas just an FYI it wasn't the Democratic Black Congressional Caucus, it was the Black Congressional Causus.(shows it as such, in big bold letters) This video wasn't an attack on the democrats, is was an attack on black people.

edited to add: But Thomas thanks for letting me know up front what kind of guy you are, so I can take your future posts with a grain of salt.
