By the way - my governor, you may have heard of him - Arnold Schwarzenegger? He's a good chap like that. He's what you call fiscally conservative (and that, combined with some dumb pricks in the state legislature, trying to make theoretical points about Econ 101 have cause massive budget delays and hold ups, but... that's another point) but he's a decent chap as a human. He's socially liberal, and works with people. Decent guy. I never voted for him, but, you know, I can deal with him being in office.
He's an example.

What Peggy Noonan was caught saying on-mic but unaware is exactly what every thoughtful, civic-minded, nation-loving Republican should be shouting via any and every possible medium.
Unfortunately, having been caught and exposed, she explained her criticism away. Hard to have hope for the GOP. The only good alternative is for them to lose as big as possible. Maybe they'll try to pick somebody brilliant for VP next time. Ain't there one really smart Republican woman out there? Not one?

So I see now. The Dems fought a bill that overturned a bill that the Republicans sponsored and overwhelmingly voted for (including McCain)and now this whole thing is their fault. Along with those pesky blacks.
The fact is the damage is done. Finger pointing gets us nowhere. They're all to blame.

The moment now is to contain the fire, and the bill was one solution (read the link on my post and pay attention to the solution adopted in Sweden).
There were other options, but any is good, to make an analogy, there are many ways to finish the fire, but any to cease the fire AND recover the loses at the same time.
The center of the problem is all about 2 main things:
1 - SECURITIZATION of receivables
2 - Mark to Market - To put a "fair value" price on the titles.
Interesting that Mark to Market is also in the center of Enron collapse, and one ABSURD solution proposed by SEC was to allow banks not to put a fair value on those assets.

Regarding Housing Finance Reform, there was a reform bill in the House in 2005 that had bipartisan support and passed, but was attacked by the White House.

Karl Rove predicts Obama win
What did McCain do to piss off his own party's godfather?

Joe, that's easy, he invited Sarah "Obama is a terrorist" Palin to be his sidekick.

Fathered a black baby?
No, Rove is just saying that to energize the base. He's working for McCain.

Mike, William and Jodie,
for the love of God, I didn't post that video in an
attempt to link "pesky" blacks (as William indirectly
reflects on my character) to the economic crisis, it was
directed at democrats. You guys are thread bullies who
can't take another perspective without quickly throwing
mud on people.
Can't you just talk about the topics without pulling out
the common mob bully tactics? I have been more than
reasonable in my posts and willing to listen to
feedback.

No, I gave you the benefit of doubt that you didn't realize the racial overtones to this arguement.
But understand, this is a racially motivated arguement. Bringing in Freddy and Fannie - ie - loans for poor (codeword = black) people - when it's only one part of a huge problem? That's racially motivated.
But I noted to you on the last page - you might not know that. But whoever did plant this talking point in the media, causing people like you to repeat it?
That guy's a cowardly little bigot.
