I just got around to watching Tina Fey's SNL parody of Palin in the vice-presidential debate and I've come to the conclusion that if Palin gets elected and Tina keeps doing that parody I'll either start having sexual fantasies about Sarah Palin or I'll stop having sexual fantasies about Tina Fey.

I don't know which is worse.

I'm afraid of the latter happening myself. Just can't picture the former, Knut.
Not in a million years.

I just heard on the radio on the way home that Palin might be appearing with Tina Fey on an SNL election special.

Edited to correct bolding.

Grrrr.  It keeps saving my comments bold.

So - as the debate winds down, what's your take on McCain:

Fundementally unable to tell the truth?

OR

Evil genius?

The format of this "debate" was:

McCain lies about Obama and throws out zinger sound-bites

Obama wastes his turn refuting McCain's lies

Brokaw whines

I love the idea of a Democrat with a spine who will stand up to the lies but it cut into his answer time.  After the first half-hour, if I was Obama, I would have just wrote "LIAR" on my palm and as I got up to answer each question, I'd just hold my arm up (above my head) and aim the palm at McCain... Multi-tasking.

You know, when I watched all 3 SNL segments with Tina Fey, it made me think of what happened in the French elections several years ago with the character ( and yes, character of Jaques Chirac ).

There is a puppet TV show in France, "les guignols ". And they presented the character of Chirac as a goofy character, with funny and witty acts ( or sometimes just fun ) and dialogues. And then, he was elected President. Even if it was unintentional, a lot of analysts thought for a long time that the show made the character of Jacques Chirac and so the Presidential candidate more likeable. And as a huge percentage of voters were in the target age audience of the show, well, it may have influenced the voting somehow.

Wonder if this is going to happen here...

If there has been a more ungracious and contempt filled moment in a
debate than McCain calling Obama 'that one', then I haven't seen it.

Seriously what was that all about?

Obama won this one, Tom Brokaw lost and McCain didn't gain anything.

After the first half-hour, if I was Obama, I would have just wrote "LIAR" on my palm and as I got up to answer each question, I'd just hold my arm up (above my head) and aim the palm at McCain... Multi-tasking.

That's funny, I would love to see what Biden would have wrote. LOL

That has happened to me before, but knowing me, more than likely I was yelling at someone so I just kept it bold, if this was a school and I got a report card for playing well with others in a political thread, my parents would have already been called in. LOL
