Cliff, where did you get that electoral map you posted?
He created it (like I did mine). Sites like http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain / have maps where you can toggle who wins the state as a "what if".

Anyone have an opinion on where the dust will settle when ACORN's records are looked over? This looks like a real mess with only a few weeks left till election day.

I would peoples reaction to this org.
Change Congress
in short it is a grass roots movement to get our congress to be more honest and do more work for the people by getting them to pledge to any or all of the following:
- 1. I will no longer accept contributions from lobbyists or corporate political action committees.
- 2. I will work to support the fundamental reform of earmarks in Congress.
- 3. I will support reform to increase transparency in Congress.
- 4. I will support public financing of public elections.
I think this would go a long way to solving many problems in our country.
it is truly bi-partisan as well i can't imagine why anyone might be against any of these things unless they were profiting from them.
cheers, Don

Voter fraud allegations come up every election cycle from both sides, and they always seem to go nowhere.

It'll blow over as more race-baiting nonsense, Michael.
At this point, Obama could eat a baby on camera; people vote with their stomachs and the nation is hungry.
I'm not suggesting McCain give up yet, but if he had any dignity or self-respect he'd at least toss Palin to the curb and start being honest with the American people. It still wouldn't win him the election, but he'd at least be able to go to his final reward with a clean slate.

yeah -- CNN has a "you predict" page under their polotics page. I made the selections and posted the result.
McCain better swing shit around pretty fast ---- looks like a Obama win is a lock. I fear a president who talks tough --- and I fear Obama is all talk.

- I will no longer accept contributions from lobbyists or corporate political action committees.
- I will work to support the fundamental reform of earmarks in Congress.
- I will support reform to increase transparency in Congress.
- I will support public financing of public elections.
---------------------------
Lemme re-write those for ya:
- I will not get re-elected.
- I will not get re-elected.
- I will not get re-elected.
- I will not elected.
What we need to do is have the PEOPLE set the terms - and stick to them. We need to cut down the re-election rate of legislators from >90% to somewhere around 0% and make them fear for their jobs. Newly elected members need to be told "Don't unpack just yet; you better deliver or you're fired. In fact; consider yourself fired now, and try to change my mind."
Angry (and informed!) voters are the only way out of this mess. Maybe we can wake the media up in the process.

Much as I like the looks of that, Al, I don't think it will be THAT much of a landslide. Give McCain a couple of states, just to keep our Republican friends happy.
