I agree - the last two weeks or so have been consistant on RCP's map, and I predict it'll be at least that.  McCain could lose a few more states before it's over, but I don't see Obama losing too many.

They have, and will probably continue to have:

Alaska
Idaho
Utah
Arizona
Wyoming
Montana
North Dakota
South Dakota
Nebraska
Kansas
Oklaholma
Texas
Arkansas
Louisiana
Iowa
Indiana
Kentucky
Tennessee
Mississippi
Alabama
Georgia
South Carolina
West Virginia

That's it.  If that.

Kevin great suggestions.

I am sure as the economic ________ (fill in the blank) accelerates people will get plenty angry.  I just wish they were more informed.

The IMF today said: "The world economy is now entering a major downturn in the face of the most dangerous shock in mature financial markets since the 1930s."

Obama has the election but I fear he doesn't have an answer to the above.  It certainly won't be green jobs.

I'm sad to say that Texas will almost certainly be a red state....boo hoo...my vote into the ether...washed away by the mass of right wing religious conservatives.

I will still get out and vote anyway...if you don't vote, you don't get to complain.

This will be my daughters first time to get to vote...she is 18 this year and is really following things closely...I 'm proud of for that.

  1. I will no longer accept contributions from lobbyists or corporate political action committees.
  2. I will work to support the fundamental reform of earmarks in Congress.
  3. I will support reform to increase transparency in Congress.
  4. I will support public financing of public elections.

---------------------------

Lemme re-write those for ya:

  1. I will not get re-elected.
  2. I will not get re-elected.
  3. I will not get re-elected.
  4. I will not elected

That's pretty funny.

My problem with term limits is, why should we punish ourselves and get rid of good elected officials because some people are lazy and keep voting in, horrible politicans.

YouTube video about the "Treasure Chest" comic book story, "1976: Pettigrew For President"!

Pretty cool, the guy kind of looked like Obama.

Don don't remind your daughter that since she is in a red state her vote won't count, I live in Indiana, a red state and the first time I voted our guy got in and I was proud to think I had helped, then years later realized because of where I lived it really didn't.

Yep.  Kinda makes the effor seem worthless, doesn't it?  Stupid Electoral College.

There really needs to be a "none of the above" option.  Because, as I've mentioned before, thus far in my voting life, I've never really voted for anyone...just against the guy I don't want in by selecting the one most likely to beat him.  This time 'round will be no different.

Don - don't feel too bad - Texas is the state of Ann Richards - that's something to be proud of.

Plus?  You guys have Austin.

And think of the awesome 80s films that come from Texas - Blood Simple, Paris Texas, True Stories, etc...

And Joe Lansdale.  That alone is worth the price of admission.

Todd I'm curious, what to you, would make a perfect candidate? Reason is the last couple elections I wasn't thrilled but I must say Obama has me pretty darn thrilled.

Anyone have an opinion on where the dust will settle when ACORN's records are looked over?

With investigations in 9 states so far it doesn't look good.  Looks like massive voter fraud in the making.  I wouldn't be surprised if every single voter registered via ACORN has to reregister to have the vote counted.

I'm sorry, if Obama eats a baby I am NOT voting for him.  Call me a fair weather fan!

Get ready to switch your vote.
