Serious!  You see that clip of the guy BEGGING McCain to go dirty?

And at Palin's rally, all the cries of "KILL HIM!" and that other redneck telling the black reporter to "Sit down, boy"

They're really getting the, uh, base worked up.

If I was a republican, I'd be seeking a new base.

If you talk to the Republicans around my area, many of them are really proud to be part of that base.

I agree with what Jason, Mike, Knut, Rich and Corey have posted here.

The markets aren't free falling out of fear of a prospective Obama presidency.

They're free falling because of the bank lending default crisis that has put many financial firms around the country on the brink of collapse.  How else would the markets react to some of the worst financial news in decades?

Someone said the markets were falling because of the prospect of Obama being elected?

Today was a rally day?  Yeah.  The DJIA only dropped 100-something so I guess compared to the rest of the week it was.

I always used to say the biggest free marketeers out there would be the ones screaming for government intervention to save their tattered illusions (or delusions) and it is amusing to watch them toss their dogma out the window and beg the government to save them.

Good luck with Paulson's latest trick.

God help Obama because he is going to need it.

Mike:

I was happy that McCain referred to Obama as a decent man in response to
his supporters accusation that he is "unamerican" --- thats the real John
McCain. I was disappointed HE let his campaign get to this point. Really
disappointed.

How anyone can continue to defend McCain is beyond me. He has become the exact type of politician he swore he wouldn't be, a mudslinging dickweed as bad as Karl Rove. Two months ago, as much as I wanted Obama to win even then, I could have lived with McCain in the White House. But between this and the pick of Palin as a running mate to appease a bunch of evengelical morons, I wish they'd kick his sorry ass right out of politics period.

Any respect I had for the man has been completely destroyed. I used to think he was an honest, decent man but now............

This cracked me up. Cindy McCain blasts Obama for voting against the defense funding bill that didn't include a timetable for withdrawal.

http://boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/1 0/cindy_mccain_bl.html

I wonder how she justified sleeping with the man who voted against a defense spending bill because it did include a timetable for withdrawal. Apparently we should just keep them over there forever.

Does this make Mrs. McCain fair game now that she has "inserted herself in the race"?
