Seriously. You endorse this kind of petty, inconsequential, issue-diverting attack?

Scott often reminds me of a line from King Of The Hills character Hank Hills:
"Just when I think I've heard the dumbest thing ever, you keep talking."

And what is it, specifically, that he doesn't like? Both him AND the wife... something they have in common,,, hm. Lawyers? Maybe that's it? People from Chicago? Well, they live there now, but Obama's from Hawaii.
I wonder about that one... what else do Barack and Michelle have in common..? hm...

Hm? OH! No, no, I didn't mean that... no, no, I'm just trying to figure it out.
We've been doing this dance with Scott for 300+ pages now, and he sure does hate Obama (er, and Michelle?) and he's given reasons, but there's something missing...
Like... in the end, it'll come out that he was dating Michelle first and Obama stole her away or something...

That'll be it.
Wait. No it won't.
Maybe Scott was dating Obama, and Michelle stole him away. (At least that
would explain why she gets pulled into his otherwise very focused hatred...)

I think and hope that the undecideds (the people who tend to determine the outcome of every election) will make their choices based on reason. I believe that they will find their reason in the arguments not just of the candidates, but of the candidates' supporters that they counter. If and when that happens, I believe that people like Scott will lose the election for the guy they are voting for because they come across as entirely unreasonable.
A helpful piece of advice to Scott: if you enter this thread, read the comments and rebuttals to your opinions, and enter some kind of haze, you've got a problem. I've been in your shoes, I've tangled with multiple people on topics, and after a while we lose the ability to debate with any kind of perspective. Chances are, Scott, you are posting with tunnel vision, and you get a kind of buzzing in your head when you're thinking up your rebuttals. Believe me, it's not hard to be objective when you're in that state, it's impossible.
Personally I think that any country with only one political party is a fascist state. A man more brilliant than any of us named George Washington actually believed that the implementation of a party system would destroy our country, and I believe that if you vote down party lines in any election, be you Democrat or Republican, then you are weakening our country and doing yourself and your family a disservice. It's inconceivable to believe that EVERY Democrat has better ideas than ANY Republican, or vice versa.
So, I guess my question to Scott would be this: when is the last time you voted for a Democrat? If the answer is never, then I wish you luck as you build your time machine so you can travel back to Nazi Germany, where you will be warmly greeted by many people who share your political ideals. Assuming you look the part, that is.

"So no, not unreasoning at all. UNQUESTIONING hatred I would agree with,
however. It seems that nothing Team Obama does avoids his disapproval
(no matter how trivial), and that nothing Team McCain does gets his
disdain (no matter how noxious)."
And there you have the perfect summation of the Republican Party for the last 8 years. The past 8 years have been absolutely criminal. A fiscal disaster. A moral disaster. A disaster in governance. With not a single, new solution being offered to our future other than the usual 1980's rhetoric and a firm belief that everything 'liberal' will destroy the world. Not the slightest bit of self examination, what so ever. 'My crap don't stink.' even when it is painfully obvious to the rest of the world that it does.
-If in fact Obama wins and Democrats do, or come near, filibuster proof houses, our work is just beginning, not done. As Democrats we need to be on their case day and night to the point of being brutal. It is not the job of the opposition party to keep Government in line. It is our job. We need to be a strong voice looking over their shoulders and staying on their backs. Demand quality. Because it is just as easy for Democrats to act like fools as it is for Republicans.
Don't 'let things slide' for the sake of the team.

John McCain willingly served in Congress alongside a Mr. Barack Obama, who willingly associated with a known terrorist.
Vote Nader.

To clarify - Scott's point is that he is a Democrat, who supported HIllary, but that he can't bring himself to support Obama.
Josh's comments, other than that, are dead-on about that mentality, but Scott's posted opinions have us scratching our heads for reasons beyond the usual stuff.

And to piggy-back onto my arch-enemy Kevin Hagerman's thesis - I know this is me just repeating what's been said, but the McCain campaign, now run by Sean Hannity, seems to be working under that ol' German edict of "tell a lie enough times and it becomes true" - so I will repeat the truth enough times that it stands up to the lie...
who willingly associated with a known terrorist
As did the university that employeed him, as did the City of Chicago that embraced him and awarded him, as did his neighbors and his community.

September 11th = Osama Bin Laden = Terrorist = Ayers = Barrack Obama
So, Obama (which sound a lot like Osama) is a terrorist and since he is running for president, he must be a very powerful one, so, in order to avoid the September 11th attack we must invade Iraq and arrest Barrack Obama and his companions.
What?
