Scott Richards, October 4th, 2008: "I just don't like him or his wife."
*********
I do like that Michelle has kept very quiet lately. Unlike another woman I could name. Grace and class are two things I want in a first lady and she has both. As much as I detest Bush, I will say that Laura seemed to have it too.

I thought Michelle did very well on the Colbert Report the other night. She
carries herself very well. I think she'd make a fine first lady.

You mean Sean Hannity, THE Sean Hannity? The hypocrite? Naaaaa, he is just an amateur, I can do a lot better than that. Look:
OSAMA BIN LADEN + SADDAM HUSSEIN
Barrack HUSSEIN ObAMA + Joe BIDEN
There is clearly a connection here... Oh, yeah, that Ayers guy, he is a terrorist and lives in Chicago. Ah ha!!! I got you!
What?

The McCain supporters I know currently fall into two camps:
1. They wouldn't vote for Democrat under any circumstances. And they're grabbing onto ANY Hannity-esque talking points to under the guise of a rational decision. Their mind pretzels are downright embarrassing.
2. They don't like Obama increasing the Federal budget, the taxation on the $250+ crowd, or an Iraq timetable (authentically feeling like we can't leave until we have a strong ally in the region, and that such a thing really will make America safer from terrorists.) I respect these folks a lot more, as it seems like they're actually grappling with our country's issues for which there is never an easy solution.
There sure a lot of #1's ....

Rich, thanks for the kind words.
As a non-American, I can never understand how the Republican Party gets a pass on being patriotic. I watch Obama get smeared with the "anti-American" label, and I wondered why it is that only Democrats have to PROVE their loyalty to the country beyond all reasonable expectation, while the Republicans can say or do virtually anything and have their patriotism be treated as a given. When Republicans damage the economy, or send soldiers off to die for a suspect cause, or when they promote the ugliest kind of hate and mistrust and fear in their supporters, there is never a question that they are acting in what they believe are the best interests of their country. Conversely, a Democrat who does anything that someone doesn't like is almost immediately branded a traitor, or a pinko Commie symp, or socialist who will destroy the very fabric of America.
I understand that the United States is a conservative country, and that the Republicans are, for the most part, the "default" party (just as Canada is a left-leaning country where the Liberal Party is the "default" setting), but why would people at a McCain rally be so quick to boo when McCain tells them that Obama is a good man who loves his country?
To be "Dixie Chick'd" is apparently something that only Democrats need to fear.

For anyone who haven't seen yet, the Donald Trump assessment of Bush administration is delicious.

Jodi, I think I just turned more red-faced than my avatar.
I love you back in a non-creepy internet way.
Let's not tell Brian or Al.
Seriously, though, your posts are something I've come to look for on many threads, this one most of all.
