"I saw Ventura saying he was supportive of more investigation on that, because he was too intrigued about the way the 3rd tower fell."

Anything strange about such an incident should of course be investigated. The problem isn't that the questions are asked, but that they are asked, answered in excruciating detail with scientific reports, witness statements, reconstructions etc. and some guys decide that the answers aren't good enough because they don't believe the science.

A lot of conspiracy theories depend on the theorist's "personal science" or "personal laws of physics".

In real life, weird things happen. And when weird things happen you're going to have dozens, sometimes even hundreds of reputable experts and scientists, leaders in the field, going over that data with a fine tooth comb on their spare time trying to find the explanation. Because that information can help them understand their own work better.

Conspiracy theorists like to parade around the conceit that no-one but they had the courage or curiosity required to look into this and find the answers. The truth is usually that lots of more qualified people looked into it, found out what happened and concluded that there was nothing hinky going on. But that's not nearly as interesting.

 QUOTE:
Ventura isn't the brightest bulb on the tree

I think Ventura's smart, but his emotions just got in the way one too many times by the end of his term. At first it was refreshing to see him get pissed off here and there, calling out the press when he didn't like their tactics, that sort of thing. But it ended up getting in the way, and he just couldn't rise above it. He was such a baby sometimes.

I thought his views on issues were reasonably thought out out and articulated, though.

Don't think I would have voted for him a second time though. (Especially when I had Pawlenty, and his budget-cutting message, to vote for at the time).

Loose change brings up some disturbing questions about Building 7.  Otherwise, there are problems with their thesis.

Zeitgeist's first 20 min or so are an awesome historical look at faith, and not for sensitve religious types.  Also?  NSFW

Wow Scott that video kind of jelled it for me, on why you don't like Obama. "Cough, cough, because he's black, Cough , cough" :0(

Oh dear God Jodi, get a grip.

Scott as a democrat during the primary I supported Obama with the same, if not more, passion you had for Hillary. If Hillary would have been the democrats choice, I would have put my support behind Hillary, because Hillary and Obama's platforms are almost the same. You have attacked Obama and his wife with such venom I could not figure out where it was coming from.

You say get a grip I say get a clue and realize how you are coming across.

I think there are more than enough differences in ideology between Hillary and Obama that Scott has laid out many times over the course of hundreds of pages that we really don't need to imply that he has a problem with Obama being black.  I've never gotten that from him, neither from his tone nor his posts, so I think it best we just put that one to bed.

Give it up Scott. To the fanatics a Democrat voting against Obama is far worse than any Republican.

No someone who links a thing pointing out that black people are only voting for Obama because he is black, is insulting.  But the Howard Stern show is a perfect place to get fair and balanced reporting.

Edited to remove rude comment after reading what Matt had to say.

Jodi, I think you don't realize exactly how you come across in a lot of your posts.  It's most definitely not flattering.

Welcome back Al.  I turned you back on because of Jodi's comment.

I responded as bluntly as Jodi had, rethought it and decided not to take her low road, hence the update.

Did you listen to it at all, Jodi?  It certainly didn't paint all blacks voting for Obama only because he is black himself.  It was a humorous piece about how people really don't know the issues and are voting for the person they like.  Was it done with all races, creeds, and colors across the breadth and depth of NYC?  No, but that doesn't make it any less telling that some people will vote for someone for whatever reason and often it comes down to not knowing or caring about what it is they stand for.  I certainly didn't take this Stern piece as indicative of every black person in the country nor did I take Scott posting it as some sort of racial slam because he himself has a problem with blacks.  There was nothing different about this than what I've seen numerous times on The Daily Show.
