Well what he must have meant was the plucky energy a hockey mom brings to everything. She's perky. That has to be it. Thats what he must mean. Right?

I'm an avid DOONESBURY hound! Every day on his site, Trudeau's got a new quote of the day (as well as the daily Mud Line) -- he's hosted by SLATE.com.
I just lifts the quote of the day from there.
edited to add: DOONESBURY has a 97% accuracy rating, perhaps the reason he won the Pulitzer.

Even if he's serious, what he means is, in her less than two years as Gov of Alaska, she's responsible for collecting the money that Big Oil gives her from the pipeline and distributing it to her citizenry, who pay no taxes. (Alaska! The ultimate welfare state!)
Which is like saying the cashier at McDonalds knows more about beef than anyone in America.
I keep losing more and more respect for John McCain...
Though! Obama's numbers slipped overnight - uh, the attack ads MIGHT be working.. yikes!

Well, see, I'm torn.
Sarah Palin is from a state with lots of oil, lots of elks, it is as far north as my part of Norway, midnight sun and all that. We even have people here who have shot wolves from helicopters. And we have crazy religious people. And no-one here has any clue what the vice-president's job is. And according to a recently published unauthorized biography of a former foreign minister, we were actually so Pro-Israel that we helped them get the nuclear bomb (by furnishing them with heavy water even though we knew it would be used for that purpose)
So from that perspective, Sarah Palin would be our ideal candidate. On the other hand ...

That would make Alaska the model of everything the more left leaning Democrats want in the whole country then. :P
