You're right Kevin. It just wouldn't do to have a politician actually listen to and ask about a request from a citizen.

In the interest of fairness (and fishy-ness), the librarian in question has gone on record saying says she can't recall any effort by Palin to ban specific books from the town library.
There are, however, some interesting tidbits surrounding the incident:
The librarian was fired within a week of telling Palin she wouldn't remove any books ... and then, was re-hired after a public outcry.
The local reporter claims the librarian told him there were three books Palin specifically wanted removed. The librarian says she can't confirm or deny anything.
It could all be circumstantial stuff ... an overzealous reporter trying to create a controversy and make a name for himself ... a small town librarian who felt put off by a powerful woman, etc. Who knows? But in the context of other stuff we know about Palin ... exorcisms, abuse of power ... I'd be lying if I said it was easy to give her benefit of the doubt.
Kinda looks like a duck and sounds like a duck to me. (Or maybe a moose.)
