Only an idiot would expect to buy a business that makes significantly more
than his current business and have his costs stay the same as they are now
anyway.
You might want to read up on it before commenting next time.  He knew what his taxes were going to be.  Under Obama they would be more.  That's not being an idiot.

The defenders of "Joe The Plumber's" position are certainly painting the
picture that it is solely because of Obama that his higher-earning
business would cost more to run.

I duly apologize for calling "Joe The Plumber" an idiot, and call them it
instead. Idiots.

Except as Mike pointed out this is what will happen to Joe's taxes under Obama's plan:

 QUOTE:
As a single tax-payer Joe the Asshat would benefit from Obama AND as a small business owner, Joe the Asshat would benefit from Obama's small business tax credits.

One thing you didn't mention, but I've seen others that have.  Some are saying he's not even a plumber because he doesn't have a plumber's license.  He's a plumber.  In Ohio, only commercial plumbers need to have a license.  Residential plumbers do not.  Of course, if he buys the business and wants to do commercial jobs, he'll have to apply for a license.

Just to clarify the point -- I'd read (and can't recall where now but I think the Times) that there is no state licensure in Ohio but that individual municipalities may require licensure -- including the municipalities where Joe works.  Whether his association provides licensure for him was permissible in those municpalities was unclear to me from the reports I read.

So we're calling a small businessman crude names if he doesn't agree with Obama's tax plan? Classy.

Here's the point McCain should've been hammering all along -- Obama's economic plan is built on a foundation of balsa wood. He's proposing a massive increase in federal spending, plus middle-class tax cuts. His proposal to pay for this is the standard "soak the rich" tax hike that liberals have advocated for years.

But here's where it falls apart. The economic is struggling and capital gains earnings are way down. That means that the ultra-rich aren't nearly as rich as they were a year ago. Which means they won't be able to pay as much taxes.

So when revenues fall short, what happens? Will Obama scale back his programs? Or will the average, middle-class taxpayer like Joe the Plumber have to pick up the tab? The math just doesn't add up.

In the story I read, it said he was covered because his employer was licensed. If he became the owner of the business, he'd have to get his own license.

I'm assuming Sacramento County is in California.  That's surprising coming from a county in an overwhelmingly liberal state

Sacramento is the Capitol of California.  Here's some other fun from the area:

No, because he's not a small buisnessman.  He's a fraud.  He is a lair and a back-tax owing cheat.

Let me get this straight.  Because either "Joe The Plumber" has the same last name as a family member of the Ketings, or because he doesn't have a plumbing liscense, this invalidates both his question to and the answer from Obama?

Oh no! They're swift-boating Joe the Plumber now! Perhaps his real name is Joe Hussein Plumber.

If I'm Bob the Builder or Thomas the Tank Engine, I'm getting pretty nervous right now....

Fortunately, Theodore Tugboat, being Canadian, is safe from this madness.
