This point has been made repeatedly and recently, too. But it's more fun to
pretend it hasn't, so we can continue to stump the notion that 'your
candidate is bad, mine is good', I guess.

"Read My Lips: No New Taxes"

Who said that?

And how long did it take, once he was in office, for taxes to go up?

Yeah, say all you want about how theoretically Obama might raise taxes at some point - the bottom line?  Based on existing plans, I'm getting more of a tax cut under Obama.  I could use that money!

Maybe Obama might raise my taxes in the future if I vote for him, though!  Maybe if I vote for Obama I might die in the future, too!  Maybe if I vote for Obama I might catch a cold some day!

But sticking with the facts?  I'll be getting a pretty decent tax return come Jan 2010.  Far less under McCain.

Mike you crazy idjit. You can't talk about bottom line like it means
something you know; not with all these economists around!

Another amusing diversion:

GOP appears to have spent $150,000 on Palin's wardrobe over the past eight weeks.

If Obama wins the election who do you think is going to pay for his kid's travel?

I think the point is that travel expenses for family in a capacity of questionable officiality is incongruous with the "I'm a gosh darn reformer who fights government waste by selling my predecessor's plane on eBay" image.

Why we will of course. What does that have to do with anything? We have always paid for presidents children to travel with them. One of the perks of being president I would surmise.

But you miss the point that the law in Alaska allows for travel payment for anyone on OFFICIAL STATE BUSINESS. Her kids were not on official state business and often were not even invited to the events in question. She used a loophole in the law to force the state to pay those bills. And after reporters asked to see the records she went back and amended them so it looked like they were invited or on official business. You really don't see anything wrong with that?

It's election season, William - the correct terminology is: She used a loophole in the law to force the taxpayers to pay her bills.
