Maybe we'll get back to the moon and pick up some of the stuff we left there.

I wholeheartedly agree, Al. Gillmer is ok in my book.

Now, when I saw Andy Griffith my first thought was voting Will Stockdale in, but we already have an idiot hillbilly in the office.

ok, to drift slightly: driving home in the beater tonight I turned on Michael Savage (or Dr. Savage as his sheep call him) and he was talking to a Philip J. Berg about a lawsuit that states Barack Obama was not in fact born in the United States. He then proceeded to give 'evidence' to support this claim while Savage started to cream all over the place.

Now I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but here's my simple question - when a candidate runs for high office isn't there some sort of background check run on him? i mean, when Obama filed papers with whomever to run for President, isn't there a governmental body that actually checks the birth certificates of the candidates or whatnot? Christ almighty, I have to show a driver's license to vote, surely a man running for President must show some sort of eligibility.

By the way, to frame this 'controversy' a quick Yahoo search revealed this other Philip J. Berg classic. And then he wonders why the 'mainstream media' won't call him.

Jim Lynch!  I was JUST typing almost the EXACT same thing - and then I decided I didn't want to give the guy credit - I deleted what I typed - and there you are typing the same thing!

CRAZY!

But!  Since you opened that can of worms - did you hear that other story Savage was creaming about - the woman mugged by the Obama supporter?  "Dr" Savage claimed it was covered up by the media because it was a BLACK man attacking a WHITE woman and poor oppressed whites aren't allowed a say in the media - (Is he out of his f*cking mind or what?) - anyway - here's a pretty awesome write-up of the story...

Here's some more details about Berg's story.

After a commercial Savage led into Berg by saying "Obama has admitted..." not once qualifying it, however incorrectly, as Berg does on this site, that by not responding to a lawsuit you're admitting the truth. If you're a casual listener who just happened to tune in right then you'd think Obama had just quit the race and made these confessions.

So ok, lawyers of the JBF, how does that work?

In other baffling statements that need to be dumbed down for old Jim, listening to Limbaugh the other day in the car, a poll worker from somewhere called in to tell about the danger of these fraudulent registrations. Apparently, as near as I understood, she claimed that somehow the local party precinct people automatically vote all registered voters WHO HAD NOT APPEARED TO VOTE according to the party affiliation. So I took that to mean if I'm a registered Demmycrat and I don't go to the polls, my precinct person will cast my vote for the Democrat candidates. So, everyone does vote, no matter what.

HUH?

In Kansas, like i said upthread, I have to show proof of residence to vote. If my precinct person is going to cast all Democrat votes anyway, why do I bother showing up?

I may not know much, but I know one thing: i need a damn CD player in my car.
