Most of today's polls are showing Indiana has switched to a blue state.
Polls mean nothing. It's all about November 4.

Well, yeah, in the article I posted, they give a bunch of thoughts on that one... like... it's a really well-formed backwards B - how did he take the time - while in the midst of beating and attacking her, to carefully detail such a cleanly carved B into her cheek? Backwards? Why a B and not an O, which would be easier, and is Obama's symbol? Understanding that she may've been in shock - still - a mugger's knife is filthy - why did she not seek medical attention - and rather go straight to the press? (Like, the trauma didn't stop her from doing that...) and funny how the cameras at the ATM didn't catch any of the attack. And funny how the B is only scratched onto her face, and not cut into it - what kind of knife was he using? A butter knife?
So... yeah.
Jeff - interesting to hear Malkin (And Chris Miller) also smell a rat! She (and he!) are not people I usually see eye to eye with. Glad to be able to reach across the aisle on this one!

Not the least of which is that the B is backwards, as if done in a mirror.
You should work as a crime solver.
Wake up people, democrats don't do shit like the bear and the B thing, wait I think the bear attacked the lady carved a B with his claw, she got pissed off, fought back and shot the bear in the head. :0)
Now if these were stories about people getting elected and having a sex scandal, then I would believe it was a democrat involved. We democrats are lovers not fighters!
edited to take out poorly placed comma.

I am aware that our system is different here in Canada.
You haven't answered the nature of my question.
Those individually tallied votes cast by individual citizens for the presidency are not directly applied to the outcome of the Presidential election. How is this a superior way of doing things? |

Al, I responded to what I thought was pertinent. In this case, your inference that the individual votes are somehow irrelevant in determining the outcome of a presidential election. Here's what you had said:
"How is it not better that every individual American's vote for President be tallied and the choice for President be decided on the very direct basis of which candidate received more votes?"
Again, Al, the eligible, individual votes of citizens go *directly* to determining their respective state's slate of electors. It is these votes which determine, *directly*, the apportionment of state electors and hence, the winner of the election.
As to your second question, are you really, as it reads, asking me to give you a labored run-down on the very system itself? Really? As I've previously taken that path in threads in this forum--which you've read--perhaps you'd take the initiative in explaining just how a national, direct vote might prove preferable in *any* sense? We know Canada has nothing remotely resembling direct election of an executive branch (indeed, its parliamentary system is three-steps removed from even the possibility), but, given *our* form of government in the United States of America, how should a direct, national election prove "better" in either the practical or theoretical sense?

OK, Michael, perhaps I should phrase my question like this:
Why not elect your president on a strict basis of total votes cast by individual
voting citizens?
Bonus points will be awarded for not bringing Canada into your answer at
all.
