"if God does "choose" Obama... was she working against God's will to run against Obama.. or..."

In biblical mythology (Old Testament, but a part of Christian teachings as well) ALL leaders, including the leaders of the enemies of the faithful or those leaders that persecute or murder the faithful are given their positions by GOD.

So, God put Bush in charge, if McCain/ Palin wins it's because God chose them. A lot of Christians prefer not to think of the "mythological fact" that the bad guys also get put in place by God (apparently to test the faithful or to punish them for God knows what reason.)

So all American presidents are put in power by God. But technically so was Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. And George III. And because they are put in place by God, all their subjects are supposed to obey them.  It is apparently a sticking point in the whole "US founded as Christian Nation" theory that overthrowing a god-anointed king for a (shudder) republic is an impious act. Some apologetics have apparently devised an exception, but I'm not sure how it was worded.

Fun.

"Actually, the people on welfare have one step up in that they can get free job training that people not on welfare can't get. "

As I pointed out in my original post, not if the "job training" they get is only for jobs that they're only eligible for as long as they're on welfare, because the "welfare workers" are cheaper and more convenient for the employers.

You misunderstood my comment.  I'm not talking about their employers training them while they work.  I'm talking about them taking classes on their own during non-work times, something their employer has no say in.   It's just like any other person who works a full time job and goes to school to better themselves on their own time.

Imagine if all the registered voters showed up.  We need to work on this.

I guess I'm not the only one that wondered why Jesus tasted so bland.
