If the Right had been as probative and critical of themselves as they've shown themselves to be towards the Left, they would be in power.

"Has this been posted? They paid her makeup artist almost $23,000 for two weeks work. And her hairdresser $10,000 for the same time period.
I must be in the wrong business."
But then you'd have to be Gay. I wonder if Palin prayed for them before they got to work on her.

At your mention of inventory taxes, I immediately thought what a pain
in the @$$ that must be for small privately-owned placed like comic
shops, but I'm sure it was equally painful for you with your toy store.
After reading this, being new comic day, I asked my LCS owner who I've been going to for about 15 years, about his inventory. His accountant uses an average value per piece in 12 different categories. When he accountant first started working for him, he said he was told he shouldn't keep so much inventory (backstock, shelf copies, toys, etc.) and my friend told him it really wasn't feasible since the nature of the beast that is a full service comic shop is to have backstock and books on the shelf.

I can't believe you are all posting on what has been spent on Palin's appearance for this campaign. The sheer volume of what's been spent by Obama inc verses McCain inc on the campaign absolutely drowns out any credible arguements on it.
And today I saw that there are serious concerns on how "donations" are being accepted, and not tracked by Obama's campaign, serious legal violations of tracking by name, address etc of crediit card donations. Adolph Hitler donated recently. Reporters repeatedly donated tiny amounts with fake names and adresses onthe "same" credit cards, and nothing kicked it out and refused it.
Add that to questions of Acorns screw ups on registration, and now Dept of Justice lawyers NOT attending the precinct voting areas to help insure creibility and proper voting procedures are followed, and I'm wondering if there's any point even going. Side note to the Acorn thing, I wonder if the numbers of questionable registrations have had an affect on the numbers reported in the polls, as in inflating the left's totals in the poll.
And I absolutely love the comments lately about the Democratic parties aversion to some media's audacity to ask "hard" questions, especially when the media has practically run Joe the plumber out of the country he "works" in for asking "a" question that some people didn't like. Maybe Tito is right about similarities to the Chavez playbook.
What a great election we're gonna have this year. Obama's a post turtle in my opinion.

I have not seen any commercials but was watching CNN this morning and they had Palin introducing Joe the Plumber by saying "look! He wears carharts and jeans! He is just like us!" She spends thousands of dollars on makeup, hairstyles and clothing yet claims she is of the common folk. Huge difference compared to overall spending. That is what the comments are about, not just the actual amount spend. The hypocrisy and the pandering to the masses.

What does Obama's spending have to do with it? The criticism isn't that Palin, McCain, or Obama are spending too much money, but that Palin's expenditures on her appearance and personal trips are incongruous with her original presentation as a frugal reformer outsider, bragging about how she got rid of government waste by putting up her predecessor's plane on eBay.

In itself, it's not that big a deal. It's more of the train wreck factor. I think people are paying attention because it's just another plot point in Sarah's fall from grace (as the public learns more about her), and ultimately, the McCain/Palin ticket's implosion.

Finally someone addressed an issue that has been driving me crazy, I watched the Obama special tonight and thought it was a homerun. I was very proud to be a democrat. Well we switched it to msnbc and Campbell Brown had a couple people talking about it'
The Independent guy said that it was a great program and thought it would be very effective, the republican guy said he thought it was really good and money well spent, then he said to be honest, Obama sounded like a conservative, "talking about family values and pride in country". I was screaming at the TV "They are American values, the democrats have family values, we have pride in our country." Of course knowing the only ones that heard me, were those in the house and agree with my beliefs. But then a miracle happened, the democrat guy said almost the exact same thing I did.
Finally, democrats are starting to stand up and saying what we should have been saying all along.
OK Palin if the reformer, but took the money for the bridge to no where, been involved in troopergate, charging the tax payers to send her children all over the place and to put them up in hotels, tailor made bidding processes in her office to favor friends of hers and now we find out miss hockey mom was sporting 150,000 clothing budget, all the while saying "Gee Joe six pack, I am just like you." If she is the reforming candidate in the short time she has been in power, god help us if she makes it to the white house.

sends a chill up my spine . . . .

I think that is because the religous right has jammed their skewed version of "family values" down America's throat for so long, weilding it like it's a weapon. It has turned so many people off to the term. I believe "family value" to be, love of family, which could mean a traditional family or a non traditional family. It's helping those you love reach their fullest potential.
Doing all you can to be a positive force in this world, teach children to be respectful and practice what you teach, give them a reason to want to be like you and respect you. I believe in learning from those that went before us, value your parents and grandparents, learn from them, if they were great people, follow their lead, if they weren't successful in life learn from their mistakes. Try to be there for them as they grow older. Become connected to your family by not only talking to them, but listening.
These are the values I practice with my family.
