"To all those who name the name of Christ who plan to willfully disobey Him by voting for Obama, take warning... No, this election is not about race. It's not about the economy. It's about obeying God... Obey Him in the voting booth and out of it. If not, do us all a favor and quit calling yourself a Christian."
-- radio host and commentator Janet Porter

When did God give His Presidential endorsement? I missed that. I love how the MSM was all over Powell's endorsement for Obama, but there's been no coverage for God's endorsement of McCain. Journalists are a bunch of atheist socialist Marxist Fascist Nazis.

So let me get this right.  Folks are upset that the RNC spent $150,000 on clothes and stuff for Palin, but had nothing to say over how much Obama spent on building his stage at Investco field?  I guess only Democrats are allowed to spend money on props.

If elected though, I hope Obama will take care of the country more than he does his family.

Jeff - I assume that, if you have any cousins or aunts/uncles out there who are poorer than you, then you must take care of them and support them financially, right?

Anyway, I thought that we don't want Obama to be a Socialist.  While it would certainly be admirable for him to reach out and take care of his relatives who are in worse shape than him, I guess there are two things to consider.  1. Sharing his wealth with his poorer relatives might be frowned upon by certain members of the population and, perhaps more importantly, 2. to quote the article "It is not clear whether Mr Obama has been in touch with his African relatives living in the US, or even whether he is aware that they are on US soil."

Josh, if I were a millionaire I would definitely be taking care of all of my family in one way or another.  Especially if I wrote in one of my two autobiographies on how important they were to me.

" I hope Obama will take care of the country more than he does his family."

Yeah. Unlike Democrats, Republican politicians really know how to take care of their own.

You obviously haven't read the entire article, Jeff.

And I absolutely love the comments lately about the Democratic parties aversion to some media's audacity to ask "hard" questions...

-----------------------------------

I've had that similar POV with Palin’s Republican entourage completely avoiding and/or shutting down questions asked by the media except in rare, strictly-controlled (and previously screened) situations. That reflects on the media’s audacity to ask ANY questions...

Yeah. That's what we said. I consider the building of a stage quite different than $180,000 spent on clothes, hair and makeup in one month. Especially when the stage was built by the DNC, not the Obama campaign. The money spent on it was raised for that purpose specifically.

http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2008/10/13/daily43 .html

Here is some information from the Republican National Convention and how much it cost.

http://www.minneapolis.org/page/1/mpls-2008-republican-natio nal-convention.jsp

The Democratic convention cost approx. 54 million and the Republican convention cost 82 million. Now it doesn't matter to me what either party spent. They raised the money for their conventions to do with as they saw fit. The whole point being raised about Palin and the money spent on clothes and makeup, is that she walks around trumpeting about how she's one of us. When you're spending 5 to 6 times what I make in a year on clothes and hair, you are most definitely not like me.

The fact you don't see the difference between money spent by the DNC for the nomination ceremony and the amount the RNC spent on Palins wardrobe is just sad. I have no problem with what the RNC spent on their convention. Short of winning the Presidency, it's the biggest night of the year for them.

I do have a problem with a woman who claims she's just like me and then spends that amount of money in a month on clothes. I would feel the same way if the DNC spent that much to outfit Obama and Biden.

I honestly don't see a difference between Palin's wardrobe budget and the parties spending millions to stage a campaign, buy TV ads, put up billboards and yard signs, etc.

All are part of campaign expenses and visual imagery is important. Palin is constantly on TV and in front of crowds and she needs nice clothes. It has nothing to do with her being "one of us" or not.

I mean, I'm sure Barack Obama isn't buying his suits off the rack at KMart.

It's mind-boggling that it can cost $150,000 to dress a woman well. These Republicans are living in another world.
