Line
of thought goes something like this. "You know he didn't get up there
by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do
while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him
up there in the first place".

Who really gets a shot at the Presidency without the help - deserved or not - of countless other, well-connected people? McCain was a habitual Navy fuck-up who was protected by his Admiral daddy's pals. Those same connections helped him run for Congress. And let's not even get into GWB.

"
Wait, wait, wait. People are using wardrobe as an issue and now it's getting silly? "
If your wife / significant other charges $150,000 for a new wardrobe, remember to say nothing.

Jodi, just be thankful that the only thing that happened was your sign getting stolen. There are a lot of idiots on both sides that are doing so much worse to people displaying political signs in their yards or stickers on their cars. I'm afraid of seeing what all is going to happen over the next 4 days.
No shit Jeff, I was at the local Meijer and the SUV beside me had an Obama bumper sticker on the back window and there was a huge scratch underneath it like someone keyed it. To be honest I have a Obama bumper sticker and that is why it's not on my car right now. I figured it would be racist bait.
I also think it's going to get really nasty.
edited to add :Matt I wished they hadn't used the robot from one of my top 20 movies

Compared to what your wife/significant other spent on a patio, I'd be grateful.

Like I said, Republicans live in their own world.

Marcio, he is an intellectual. Republicans do not like them. All that thinking and asking questions and stuff. +++ So it seems Neil, so it seems.

Fukuyama is one of the original Neoconservatives. His "End of History"
was the foreign policy blueprint for GWB. A couple of years into the
Iraq war Fukuyama broke from GWB. I don't quite remember why. He
kind-of-sort-of repudiated himself in an article, but he was much more
upset with GWB than with himself.
+++ Yeah, and now that supports Obama he is just some guy anyone knows.

Well, that goes both ways, Marcio. Before, to Obama supporters, he was an idiot. Now that he's come out for Obama, all is forgiven?

Marcio. I guarantee you, the vast majority of Americans, Democrat, Republican or non-affiliated, haven't heard of him.

Edited to add: Sorry Scott, my answer was not polite, but I can't help being frustrated with so many people voting to the Republican party after 8 years of a complete disaster in their policies. The financial crisis itself is a major reason to change the PARTY in power, no matter the president.

No worries Marcio. I didn't take it as not being polite. You are correct. Almost no one had heard of Palin prior to a few months ago.
